Sally Mann, a wonderful photographer and a wonderful artist with a strong sense of personal and social values, is willing to stand up for what she believes, what she does, and who she is. The only question is has she harmed her children by making them the subject of a continuing photographic study? No. I think not. If anything, she has passed along to her children a stronger sense of values than she would have had she chosen to take a safer approach, the approach most of us would have taken. This documentary is fair, in that it gives voice to opposing sides, but really gives Sally Mann an opportunity to say what she feels. Well done.
