Fox Entertainment has renewed the hit medical drama Doc for a 22-episode second season, it was announced today by Michael Thorn, President, of Fox Television Network. The freshman series’ premiere scrubbed in at over 16 million viewers, making it Fox’s most-watched debut in over five years.

“We are thrilled that audiences have embraced Season One of Doc,” said Thorn. “Barbie and Hank have done an outstanding job bringing one of the most emotionally powerful series on television to life. Fox has officially renewed the medical drama Doc starring Molly Parker (House of Cards) for a second season. The renewal comes with just one new episode remaining in the series’ first season.

The 10-episode freshman season wraps up on Tuesday, March 18, 2025. The just-announced second season will expand to 22 episodes and is expected to air as part of Fox’s 2025-2026 primetime lineup.

Now, Mabius has found himself behind bars after he was arrested on Thursday, February 20, in Florida.

According to TMZ, the actor who has also starred in Haul Out the Holly and its sequel, was arrested on Thursday and booked into Nassau County Jail and Detention Center before 6 am. Mabius is facing two misdemeanor charges: battery and resisting an officer without violence.

While so far, what has happened is unclear, Mabius’ mug shot reveals a cut by his right eye and the fact that he is not happy.

Scott Wolf’s role in the new Fox drama Doc has marked a homecoming for the veteran actor, who became a household name in the ’90s when he starred opposite Matthew Fox and Neve Campbell in the network’s drama Party of Five.

While talking up his latest gig opposite Molly Parker during an Austin TV Festival panel Tuesday, Wolf says he has come “full circle in an amazing way” by starring in a medical drama “that resonates the same way that [Party of Five did] with me.”

Based on a true story, Doc follows Dr. Amy Larsen (Parker), a brilliant but irascible surgeon who forgets the last eight years of her life after she was involved in a car accident. It premiered Jan. 7 on Fox.

The theme song for "The Big Bang Theory" is a fast-talking deluge of pseudo-nerdy references that are juuust incorrect enough to drive real-life nerds a little big crazy. The full version of the theme, rarely played in its entirety before the show, included enough brainy references to be clever, however. Right now, Scott Wolf is on our screens as a doctor on the new Fox drama Doc — and he’s hiding quite the secret — but it’s far from the first drama he played a medical professional. Eleven years ago, he starred as Dr. Jake Hartman on Everwood, which ran four seasons (ending in 2006). When TV Insider recently spoke with Wolf, we had to ask him about his time on that teen drama. “Everwood was a really wonderful experience. Moved my wife and I to Utah, where we still live. Was my first doctor role,” he recalled. “I’ve now played four. Some amazing people on that show. According to the official synopsis, this first rom-com in the Loveuary programming event stars Lacey Chabert and Robert Buckley as Hannah and Finn. A chance encounter on Valentine’s Day brings them together as they race through New York City to return a lost engagement ring and save one couple’s special day.

Does this lead to love for Hannah and Finn? We’ll have to watch to find out.

Troian Bellisario and Brandon Larracuente are teaming up for On Call. The Dick Wolf-produced Prime Video series stars Bellisario in the lead role of Officer Traci Harmon, a veteran cop with a chip on her shoulder after experiencing a career-altering call years prior. By her side is Larracuente's Officer Alex Diaz, a rookie cop coming into the Long Beach Police Department with a high level of hope.

On Call represents Bellisario's first main role on a television series since her breakout in Pretty Little Liars. She starred as Spencer Hastings on that mystery teen drama for 160 episodes in the 2010s. Larracuente is coming off of television success with roles in hit shows like 13 Reasons Why, Party of Five, and The Good Doctor.

Bradford English had a screen acting career that spanned from 1971 to 2010, and over those 39 years he racked up more than 70 credits – but for many of us, he’s best remembered for playing the drunk, abusive blowhard John Strode in the 1995 horror sequel Halloween: The Curse of Michael Myers. Sadly, we lost English right before Halloween this year, as it has been reported that he passed away on October 25th in Pasadena, California at the age of 82.

English was born in South Orange, New Jersey on January 16, 1942. His obituary can be found online and says he “was a true force of life and was filled with love. He was a husband and a family man who was survived by his loving wife and high school sweetheart Cecelia Gail English. Together they created a beautiful family of four children: James Bradford English Jr., Jeffrey Brennan English, Kristin Lunney English and Colleen Margaret Theresa English.

Netflix is rolling out more holiday movies for the winter of 2024, including Hot Frosty, which features a talented cast of actors many viewers will recognize. The Christmas fantasy film, directed by Jerry Ciccoritti and written by Russell Hainline, tells the classic story of a snowman who comes to life but turns it into a rom-com. Hot Frosty revolves around Kathy, a widowed woman who owns a restaurant in the small town of Hope Springs. After the heartbreak of losing her husband two years ago, Kathy fails to take care of herself, until a certain snowman enters her life.

Netflix has a long, storied history of canceling shows early on in their runs. The winner of the streaming wars may spend billions of dollars on original movies and TV shows, but letting any of those shows live beyond a few seasons is a rarity. 2019's young adult series "The Society" was one of those shows that was a one-and-done, with the series lasting just a single season. But that wasn't the original plan. So, why was this popular series canceled after only one season?

For those who may not be familiar, "The Society" follows a group of teenagers who are mysteriously transported to an exact replica of their wealthy New England town, only with no trace of their parents to be found. The series hailed from Chris Keyser and Marc Webb with a promising young cast led by then-up-and-comer Kathryn Newton.

Originally, Netflix had renewed "The Society" for a second season.

Hallmark fans are excited about Lacey Chabert’s first Netflix movie, Hot Frosty. This Christmas movie will be premiering on Wednesday, November 13. However, subscribers will be able to see Lacey and other favorite Hallmark stars like Bethany Joy Lenz, and Kristoffer Polaha.

On Tuesday, What’s On Netflix revealed that Netflix will be streaming 10 Hallmark Christmas movies as part of its 2024 holiday season programming. All but one premiered in 2023. Three of these movies star Hallmark Christmas Queen Lacey Chabert.

Lacey Chabert’s love life heats up with a once-chilly paramour in the trailer for Netflix’s holiday offering Hot Frosty.

Jerry Ciccoritti directs the Christmas romantic-comedy feature that hits the streaming service on Nov. 13, just in time for the holiday season. Rounding out the cast are Dustin Milligan, Katy Mixon, Lauren Holly, Joe Lo Truglio, Craig Robinson and Chrishell Stause.

Hot Frosty follows widow Kathy (Chabert), who is going through a rough stretch until she uses a magical scarf to bring attractive snowman Jack (Milligan) to life. The pair begin to fall for each other but have limited time before he starts to melt.

“Clearly, you’ve been doing your push-ups,” Chabert tells the well-toned snowman before his transformation.

Later, Jack (Milligan) tells a neighbor, “I’ve never been on a date before. I need your help with Kathy.”

Ciccoritti helmed the Christmas movie from a script by Russell Hainline.

Fatefully, Katherine attends the same retreat to finish her novel.

Nicholas Pryor, the busy character actor who portrayed Tom Cruise’s father in Risky Business and Kathleen Robertson’s dad on Beverly Hills, 90210 during a career that spanned seven decades, has died. He was 89.

Pryor died Monday of cancer at his home in Wilmington, North Carolina, his wife, actress Christine Belford, told The Hollywood Reporter.

In a note to be delivered to THR after his death, he wrote: “Nicholas Pryor was enormously grateful to have been, for nearly 70 years, a working actor.”

From 1997-2002, Pryor played the former spy Victor Collins on the General Hospital spinoff Port Charles, culminating a long career in daytime soap operas that included stints on The Secret Storm, The Edge of Night, Love Is a Many Splendored Thing, All My Children and Another World.
