The films financier and producer got into a major disagreement. This caused the film to be delayed for 2 years .
The song Suno Mere Rani Ji was sampled from Khaled song Didi. The same song was a source of inspiration for the song Jee Jee from Khoon Ka Sindoor, Ladki Ladki from Shreeman Aashique and Dil Cheez Tujhe Dedi from Airlift. The "Parody Song" in Eena Meena Deeka" also sampled "Didi". A.R. Rahman used Cheb Khaled song "Didi" for inspiration for his song "Mere Dil Ka Woh" from Kabhi Na Kabhi. At the 0:20 mark of the song, A.R. Rahman uses the "Didi" tune/music . The exact part used from Cheb Khaled's "Didi" is at 0:59 to 1:12 mark of the song. A.R. Rahman had earlier used the same tune of "Didi" at the exact part and used it in his song "Telephone" at 1:38 mark, from the movie Indian (Hindustani). If one listen's very carefully and thinks ,A.R. Rahman took the basic rhythm/ tune of that part of "Didi" and recreated it with different instrument's. This gave A.R.Rahman's song more individuality and not seem like a rip off "Didi".
The film did not have a theatrical release in British Columbia, Canada.
The song "Pehla Pehla pyar layi hoon".Film: Maalamaal music director: Anu Malik copied from Beethoven's Fur Elise. Insaaf (1987) song Main Hoon Tu Hain.. was also inspired by this song . It was once again used as inspiration for the song "Jaane Mujhe Kya Hua (Baazi) and "Hanske Guzaare Zindagi Hai Wohi Aadmi" (Brahma, 1994) .
