"The joyous last day of school before summer vacation turns sour for four fun-crazed troublemakers at Beaver High."
I do not know which film this outline depicts ,but it's NOT "la folie douce "; "Beaver High "suggests an American movie ,and "la folie douce" is FRENCH .
Here is the real plot:
Edouard is some equivalent of Ménie Grégoire in France or Dear Abby in America on a radio station , his pieces of advice on the air might be useful (he does not seem to care a little bit),but when he tries to use them in real life with his friends ,his skills are dubious. Louise asks for his opinion ,for she has walked out on her boyfriend Eric and fallen for an aging novelist but is it the right choice? He could be her father. Eric consoles himself with Vera ,a pretty young Brazilian .Joseph and Gloria face adultery .And Edouard himself is sad cause his baby ,Lotte, has left him for Roman.
This mish-mash is incredibly dull ,entirely devoid of humor, but with trendy slang galore ;in short, a movie a la mode which was already dated at time of release ;no social background :those people 's only concern in life is their love affairs :one learns that textile is threatened by Pole unfair competition and that's it ;If you feel for those people , in spite of their affected playing(Baer is particularly exasperating),much good may it do to you .
