There are several excellent sci-fi books that were published in the last 10 years that belong among the best sci-fi stories. Generally, it can be difficult to narrow down the best science fiction stories—the genre has a rich history of compelling stories, from books to movies to TV shows. Some of the best sci-fi TV shows are based on books, while there are science fiction films that rightfully dominate award shows, such as Everything Everywhere All At Once. There is always a wide selection to choose from, regardless of the decade's selection.
Science fiction is also a broad topic containing several subgenres, including dystopia, space operas, aliens, and time travel. Furthermore, there are excellent stories that blend science fiction with other genres, including books that perfectly blend sci-fi and romance. Some sci-fi books contain more science than fiction, but it does not make the narrative less compelling. Over the last decade,...

Hallmark Channel news suggests a royal twist and teases Megan Markle could be a step closer to returning to Hallmark, but is she? Meghan might be far removed from her Hallmark days, but she recently was spotted lunching with another Hallmark star.
Hallmark Channel News – Once A Part Of The Hallmark Family, Always A Part Of The Hallmark Family?
It seems that Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex, may have moved on from her Hallmark days, but it looks like she still has strong ties to the Hallmark family.
Recent photos of Markle having lunch with another Hallmark star, actress Kimberly Williams-Paisley, suggest that she still has friends within the Hallmark community.
However, it’s unlikely that Markle will be returning to Hallmark anytime soon, although the pair was spotted at Tre Lune, an Italian restaurant in Montecito, California.

Arthur Ashe Stadium in Queens, New York, has long been the home of historic tennis matches, the back and forth of fierce competitors. But audiences had a different courtside experience Thursday when Kevin Spacey brought his one-man show “Clarence Darrow” to Center Court — the first play ever performed in the U.S. Open’s biggest venue, for a limited two-night run. Darrow, the pioneering American lawyer who argued key cases in the early 20th-century progressive era, was a master of the service game — service to the working man, to the oppressed and to reason itself despite the assault of well-heeled bullies.

Exclusive: MGM is negotiating with Emilia Clarke and Sam Claflin to star in the Thea Sharrock-directed Me Before You, the adaptation of the Jojo Moyes best-selling novel. Karen Rosenfelt is producing Sharrock’s feature debut. MGM is partnered with New Line and Warner Bros, which has dated the movie for August, 2015 release.
Clarke, whose breakout came playing the mother of dragons Daenerys Targaryen in HBO’s Game Of Thrones, is playing Sarah Conner in Terminator: Genisys, and she is also going to star with Nicholas Hoult in Go Down Together, the Michael Suscy-directed revisionist take on Depression Era outlaws Bonnie and Clyde. Though a newcomer, Claflin’s track record is pretty remarkable: the final three The Hunger Games films, Snow White and The Huntsman and Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides.
There was a lot of competition between young actors for this male lead, and he beat out...

Kevin Spacey was onstage for the opening night of Clarence Darrow at the Old Vic Theater in London when a ringing phone interrupted the play – much to his displeasure.
Kevin Spacey Calls-Out Theatergoer
Oscar-winning actor Spacey put the play on hold to address the member of the audience who failed to put his or her phone on silent before the show. “If you don't answer that I will,” Spacey shouted down to the individual, reported the Daily Mail.
When the cell phone went off, Spacey was in the middle of a monologue in which he was directly addressing the audience. In the scene, his character – a legal pioneer in 19th century America – was on trial defending himself. As Darrow, Spacey was making an impassioned plea directly towards the audience when the ringtone melody began. Spacey continued to perform, but the noise wouldn’t let up, which led him to address the offending theatergoer.

Exclusive: MGM has set acclaimed theatre director Thea Sharrock to direct Me Before You, the adaptation of the Jojo Moyes best-selling novel. Karen Rosenfelt is producing what would be Sharrock’s feature debut. The novel tells the story of Lou, a small-town girl caught between dead-end jobs, and Will, a success all his life who finds himself wheelchair-bound after an accident. He finds no reason to live until they meet when he hires her as his caretaker for six months, and she becomes determined to prove to him life is worth living. They head for a series of adventures together, which changes each of them. The author wrote the first draft of the script, and (500) Years Of Summer scribes Scott Neustadter & Michael H. Weber did the most recent draft. Sharrock’s TV directing credits include Sam Mendes’ BBC miniseries The Hollow Crown with Tom Hiddleston and the BBC series Call The Midwife.

He's cardboard," said franklyfrank. "He's an opportunist of the highest order … To be frank, he should move on and leave us in peace." Well, that was one reader's opinion of Bob Dylan, posted in response to Stephen Moss's piece to mark Dylan's 70th birthday. Franklyfrank was, frankly, alone. Rarely has a thread seen such approval of an article's subject. So much love was there that NorthGoingZax felt moved to observe: "Anyone playing Dylan cliche bingo would have filled a lot of cards a long time ago off this comment thread."
One of the thrusts of Stephen's piece was that Dylan suffered a creative slump during the late 1970s and 80s, but even then it was possible to find treasure on his albums, however imperfect they were as wholes. But even that assessment was too harsh for many Dylan loyalists.

Some stories take their time in the telling. Aaron Schneider, a cinematographer turned director, who won an Academy Award for his short film, decided that for his feature film debut, he'd pack a Southern gothic tale with more stars than there are sky. The end result is Get Low, a powerful folktale about a lonely hermit who decides to throw himself a funeral party so he can hear all the stories people are telling about him while he's still alive. It's a pretty simple story, but it's packed with so much pure acting, it's going to suck you in and never let go. Pound for pound, I have yet this year to see performances that can match up with the sheer volume and assuredness of the four leads in this film. Like a skilled gourmet, Schneider knows that when your ingredients are of this quality, you don't need to do...
