Vision Films has announced that they’ll be giving the creature feature DinoGator, directed by legendary B-movie maker Jim Wynorski, a VOD on January 14th – and with that date just one month away, we’ve gotten our hands on the trailer for the film! You can check it out in the embed above.

DinoGator has the following synopsis: When a gigantic, mutated reptile gets loose in the swampy wilderness, the murky waters suddenly become an all-you-can-eat human buffet! Now the scientist that created the beast, a big-game hunter, and a group of tourists must stop it from devouring the entire comunity. With their numbers dwindling, and the hungry creature closing in, they’ll have to use their wits to avoid becoming its next meal.

Among those credits are Chopping Mall, Deathstalker II, The Return of Swamp Thing, Sorority House Massacre II, Hard to Die, Ghoulies IV, Demolition High, Piranhaconda, Sharkansas Women’s Prison Massacre, Attack of the 50 Foot CamGirl, and Murderbot – so it’s clear to see why Wynorski was the subject of a documentary back in 2009. Actor Peter Spellos had over 150 screen acting and vocal performance credits to his name, but genre fans are most likely to remember him as Orville Ketchum from the slasher movie Sorority House Massacre II and its companion piece Hard to Die, as well as the brief appearance he made as the character Tracy’s father in Freddy’s Dead: The Final Nightmare. Outside of horror, he’s best known for providing the voice of Sky-Byte in 39 episodes of the animated series Transformers: Robots in Disguise. Unfortunately, we have very sad news to share today, as it has been confirmed that Spellos has passed away at age 69 after a battle with pancreatic cancer.

Born on March 1, 1954, Spellos passed away yesterday, November 19th, at the Franciscan Hospice House in Indianapolis. His brother, James Spellos, notified TMZ that his family is planning an online “celebration of life” gathering for his fans.

Set in 1717, “Our Flag Means Death” follows Stede Bonnet (Rhys Darby) after he trades in his aristocratic lifestyle to become captain of pirate ship Revenge following a midlife crisis. Helmed by creator David Jenkins and executive-produced by Taika Waititi (who also stars as Captain Blackbeard), “Our Flag Means Death” is loosely based on the real-life adventures of Bonnet and his crew.

The 10-episode season premieres March 3 on HBO Max with three episodes, followed by three more episodes March 10, two episodes March 17, and the two final episodes March 24.

Disney is in the early stages of development on a new Tower of Terror movie, which Scarlett Johansson will produce, Deadline can confirm.

The project, inspired by the classic Disney ride, is being scripted by Toy Story 4 helmer Josh Cooley.

Plot details have not yet been released. It remains uncertain at this point whether Johansson will also star in the movie. The Black Widow star will produce the project through her company These Pictures, alongside Jonathan Lia.

Collider was the first to break news about Johansson’s involvement.

While Scarlett Johansson‘s time at Marvel Studios is winding down as her MCU character Natasha Romanoff died in “Avengers: Endgame” and there is an expectation that Florence Pugh‘s Yelena Belova will be taking over the superhero mantle post-“Black Widow,” Disney is reportedly continuing their working relationship with the actress. Which yes, may be a no-brainer.

“Black Widow” star Scarlett Johansson is producing a “Tower of Terror” movie at Disney, according to an individual with knowledge of the project.

“Toy Story 4” director and “Inside Out” writer Josh Cooley is writing the screenplay. Plot details are being kept under wraps.

“Tower of Terror,” a popular elevator-drop ride at Disneyland initially based on Rod Serling’s anthology series “The Twilight Zone,” takes place at the fictional Hollywood Tower Hotel. First opened in 1994, the Tower of Terror ride was revamped in 2017 as a Marvel Studios attraction called “Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: Breakout!”

The “Tower of Terror” movie, which has been in development since 2015, previously had a treatment by John August that centered on five people in a posh hotel who take an elevator and disappear after it’s hit by lightning. Previously, a 1997 TV movie based on the attraction starred Steve Guttenberg and Kirsten Dunst.

Dan Lin and Jonathan Eirich, who recently teamed on Disney’s live-action adaptation of “Aladdin,” are producing the film through their production company Rideback. Nick Reynolds of Rideback will serve as executive producer.

Joe Rohde, a 40-year veteran of Walt Disney Imagineering, will retire January 4 after a career designing a range of popular attractions at the company’s parks and resorts.

Rohde confirmed the news Monday in a lengthy Instagram post (read it below.) After turning 65 in September, Rohde said he decided “this strange quiet time seems like a great opportunity to slip away without too much disruption.”

Disney’s theme parks have had a tumultuous 2020 due to Covid-19. While all of them, with the notable exception of Disneyland in Anaheim, have managed to reopen, some have had to close again due to resurgences of the virus.

Rohde oversaw a trio of major projects in recent years, including Pandora — the World of Avatar at Animal Kingdom; the Guardians of the Galaxy-themed update of Tower of Terror at Disney California Adventure; and the Villages Nature Eco-Resort next to Disneyland Paris.

John Moore takes over directing duties for the completely unnecessary fifth installment in the Die Hard series titled, A Good Day to Die Hard. This R-rated entry is the loudest one yet, substituting pure noise and confusion for what used to be a fun and action-packed series. A Good Day to Die Hard is the worst Die Hard yet, because it attempts to both be serious and silly, never finding that right balance and almost always copping out any sort of character advancement for a quick one-liner by the bored and sleepy Bruce Willis.

In the film, John McClane (Bruce Willis) sets out for Russia to find his son Jack (Jai Courtney). Almost minutes after arriving John somehow gets involved in a disastrous car chase that results in lots of damaged property. From there he continues to get in the way of virtually everyone on-screen, while occasionally cracking a joke...

This week: It's a not-so-classic case of zombie (Nicholas Hoult) meets girl (Teresa Palmer) and how their burgeoning love might save the world in the sleeper zombie rom-com hit "Warm Bodies."

Also new this week is Bruce Willis back as John McClane (in theory) in "A Good Day to Die Hard," Jason Bateman tracking down Melissa McCarthy in the comedy "Identity Thief" and a new Blu-ray collection of the "Mad Max" trilogy.

There are horrible movies like Live Free or Die Hard and then there are downright awful movies like John Moore’s A Good Day to Die Hard. The R-rated Die Hard sequel looked sort of promising after the PG-13 shit that Len Wiseman dropped on us. I mean, even the trailers were focusing more on the over-the-top action and corny one-liners than say a coherent story or plot line and that’s fine, because the Die Hard series has pretty much lost all of its credibility since the fourth film was released.
