Dr. Laurie Hill is a pediatrician and loving wife and mother who puts up with boorish, self-centered, sexist men at her workplace, from co-worker Dr. Wiseman to her supervisor, Dr. Kramer. In her home life she deals with her husband Jeff, a freelance writer who spoils their 5-year-old son Leo. Laurie treasures her time in the company of her female co-workers and friends: resident nurse Nancy and receptionist Beverly.
