Pop culture and DC are coming together as the comic giant confirms that the latest version of Teen Titans’ Raven is directly inspired by pop sensation Olivia Rodrigo. The artist's soul-baring music, which has become the anthem of self-discovery and young adulthood for millions, is now making a big impact on comics. And once you uncover the writer’s reason for aligning the empath with Rodrigo’s Guts album, you’ll never see Raven—or Guts—the same way again.
Exploring the overarching themes of Guts reveals that the album essentially embodies Raven’s core essence.

The 1963 adaptation of Edgar Allan Poe's gothic poem The Raven starred some of the most iconic horror actors of the 1960s, and was one of eight Poe-inspired movies released in just five years. As Poe is most famous for writing horror, it might be surprising to learn that he also wrote comedy, which usually featured puns. The Raven movie also mixed horror with humor, making its gothic horror movie premise into an early horror comedy. While The Raven bombed among critics of the time, it became a cult hit, earning an 83% Rotten Tomatoes score.
The Raven is about a trio of rival sorcerers. Horror legend Vincent Price plays Erasmus Craven, who is mourning the death of his wife, Lenore. Its titular raven is Dr. Bedlo, a sorcerer under a spell, and played by Peter Lorre, who often ad-libbed the funnier lines. Boris Karloff is the final member of the trio,...

When it comes to M. Night Shyamalan, it is a career that is one of the most mixed bags in cinematic history. For every Sixth Sense, there is a Lady In The Water. For every Signs, there is a Happening. For every Unbreakable, there is an After Earth. For every Split, there is a Knock At The Cabin.
He started out with Oscar nominations at the beginning of his career, plus comparisons to Hitchcock and Spielberg. But his obsession with out-twisting himself has too often provided disappointments. In the case of his latest, Trap, he writes himself into a corner from which there is no escape, if not for his main character, then at least for himself.

Star Trek: Voyager's original episode script for "The Raven" included Seven of Nine going on a killing spree, but this was changed in a rewrite. The changes improved the episode and kept Seven's humanity intact, making her more relatable to viewers. "The Raven" ultimately enhanced Seven's character, providing information about her past and making her more sympathetic overall.
One of Seven of Nine's (Jeri Ryan) most important episodes in Star Trek: Voyager season 4 almost had a completely different storyline. As a late addition to Voyager's cast of characters, Seven had only half the amount of time other characters did for development during the show's run. However, this didn't stop her from becoming not only one of the series' most popular characters but also one of the most interesting characters in any Star Trek movie or TV show.

The release of Stellar Blade was met with significant, and also a little unexpected success. But fans are now eager for more content, particularly a Dlc that delves deeper into the character of Raven.
Raven has a complex backstory and has a pivotal role in the game’s main story. A Dlc focused on her perspective could explore her descent into madness and betrayal. This would offer players a better understanding of her motivations and allow for a different point of view of the story.

At the start of 2023, filmmaker M. Night Shyamalan secured a multi-year deal with Warner Bros., and soon after that deal was made, we heard that his first movie for Warner Bros. would be Trap, a “psychological thriller set at a concert”. That project made its way through production toward the end of last year, with lead roles going to Josh Hartnett, fresh off his appearance in Oppenheimer (pictured below), and Shyamalan’s daughter Saleka. Now the film’s August 9th theatrical release date is swiftly approaching, so today (a couple weeks after we saw the trailer), a poster for the movie has arrived online, along with an original song Saleka recorded for the movie, where she plays a pop star called Lady Raven. The poster can be seen at the bottom of this article, and you can listen to the Lady Raven song “Release” at LadyRavenMusic.com.

That's So Raven star Anneliese van der Pol reveals the show's shocking original plan in which Raven was actually the sidekick. Aired on Disney Channel for four seasons from 2003 to 2007, the series centers on Raven-Symoné as the lead character, Raven Baxter, a teenager whose secret psychic abilities allow her to see small glimpses of the future. Raven's secret is shared with her high school classmate, Chelsea Daniels (played by Van der Pol), who serves as her supportive best friend throughout the series.
However, That's So Raven's original plan was shockingly different, as revealed by van der Pol on a recent episode of the Vulnerable podcast hosted by her fellow Disney star – Even Stevens actress Christy Carlson Romano. The That's So Raven star reflected on the very different version of the show she auditioned for at the age of 15 which was titled Absolutely Psychic and saw Raven playing the sidekick.

With Titans Season 2 coming to DC Universe in a little over a week, a new trailer has been released to get the fans excited for what is to come.
As you’ll see there’s a lot of tension built up as the story continues with Season 2 and Slade Wilson a.k.a. Deathstroke is going to pose a big threat to the heroes. I enjoyed Season 1 and I’m curious to see how this next chapter plays out. The most interesting aspect for it for me is going to be seeing how Bruce Wayne will be utilized in the story. Then there’s Dick Greyson who is looking at becoming Batman!?
Here’s the synopsis for Season 2:
In this action-packed, live-action series, Dick Grayson, aka the former Robin (series star Brenton Thwaites), emerges from the shadows to lead a band of new heroes – including Starfire, Raven, Beast Boy and others.

Despite the fact that a fair amount of geeks have seen the original series housed by the DC Universe streaming service, I’ve often wished they’d be enjoyed by a wider audience. Granted, the limited reach comes with the territory of being a niche platform, but I remember turning to a friend during a jam-packed Lucifer panel at Motor City Comic Con this past May and saying something like “if only all these people watched Doom Patrol.”
Okay, this review obviously isn’t about Doom Patrol (though they will be discussed in a bit), but you get my point. And now, with Titans: The Complete First Season‘s home video release upon us, the masses have their chance to get in on the ground floor for something that may prove to be as magical as The CW’s Arrowverse.

A change in leadership has advanced Call of Duty: Black Ops 5's release date.
The 2020 entry in the Call of Duty franchise is no longer being led by studios Raven and Sledgehammer according to a new report by Kotaku. Instead, Treyarch is scheduled to release Black Ops V that year.
As you probably know, Activision has spent the last several years assigning new Call of Duty games to a rotating series of developers that include Sledgehammer, Infinity Ward, and Treyarch. Sledgehammer was originally scheduled to make 2020's Call of Duty all on their own (as their last game was 2017's Call of Duty WWII), but they were informed by Activision that studio Raven would be joining them as co-leads on the project.
All of that changed quite drastically recently when Activision reportedly told Sledgehammer and Raven that neither of them would be developing the 2020 entry into the Call of Duty franchise.

Are you six for six at guessing the identities of Fox’s eliminated “Masked Singer” contestants and pretty sure you’re going to get the remaining six correct too before the show is over? Good for you because then, as a fan, you should know the panelists definitely aren’t that successful.
While Jenny McCarthy, Ken Jeong, Robin Thicke and Nicole Scherzinger have thrown out many a name on the new Nick Cannon-hosted oddball celebrity singing competition series, they haven’t hit the nail on the head that many times before the unmaskings.
And when TheWrap spoke with executive producer Craig Plestis during the Television Critics Association press tour Wednesday, we learned that none of the panelists ever guessed the identity of the person who won the whole thing — which viewers will find out when the finale airs in three weeks, as the whole season was previously taped.

The second episode of “The Masked Singer” on Wednesday (Jan. 9), featured another half dozen celebrities. Each of them was completely hidden inside an animal costume with their faces covered by an elaborate mask. They were paired up and the loser of each sing-off was at risk of being eliminated. Of the three also-rans, it was the Pineapple who was sent packing. Before leaving the stage, he was unmasked and revealed to be comedian Tommy Chong.
We’ve already posted our theories as to who the winners of both his sing-off — the Raven — and the other two — the Rabbit and the Bee — really are. Now we turn to the first of the two acts that lost their sing-off but won the right to sing again: the Alien.
She performed in the first of the three match-ups against the Rabbit and had the whole crowd rocking to “Feel It Still” by Portugal.

Are you as addicted to “The Masked Singer” as we are? Upwards of 10 million people are tuning in each week to watch this reality competition series. At the end of the second episode on Wednesday (Jan. 9), we were shocked by the unmasking of one of the six celebrities who had performed (the Pineapple turned out to be comedian Tommy Chong). While we still don’t know for sure the identities of the other five famous faces inside those elaborate animal costumes, we’ve been doing some digging.
The winner of the first sing-off on episode two was the Rabbit. He won with a rollicking rendition of “Livin’ la Vida Loca” by Ricky Martin. (Watch his show-stopping performance in the video above.)

“The Masked Singer” on Fox has turned into must-see-tv this winter because of its fascinating concept: stars wearing elaborate costumes sing songs in the hope of winning over the judging panel and studio audience in order that they can stay in the competition. On Wednesday’s second episode, six celebrities sang in pairs and five of them made the cut. The second famous face forced to unmask was comedian Tommy Chong, who had been dressed as a Pineapple.
He lost his match-up against the Raven who had wowed the crowd with her rendition of “Rainbow” by Kesha. Watch her show-stopping turn in the video above.
Week One Spoilers: Who are Deer, Lion, Monster, Peacock, Unicorn
Before taking to the stage, the Raven offered up several clues as to her identity. She revealed that she had spent her life listening to other people’s stories and readily admitted “that no one talks more than me.

‘The Masked Singer’ revealed: Did You guess Pineapple was actually Tommy Chong in episode 2? [Watch]
Fox’s fun new reality TV show “The Masked Singer” revealed its second celebrity contestant at the end of Wednesday’s episode. The series, which dresses up celebs in elaborate costumes and then makes them sing in front of a live audience, returned with three separate face-offs: Rabbit vs. Alien, Raven vs. Pineapple and Poodle vs. Bee. Unfortunately, Pineapple lost his battle and was then voted out by the judges, so he was forced to unmask himself in dramatic fashion, revealing comic legend Tommy Chong (watch above). Did You guess that it was Chong inside the Pineapple costume singing Gloria Gaynor‘s “I Will Survive”?

(Warning: This post contains spoilers for the second episode of Fox’s “The Masked Singer”)
Fox’s oddball, already-smash-hit celebrity singing game show “The Masked Singer” returned Wednesday, revealing at the end of its second episode that the identity of one of its famous contestants — who performed Gloria Gaynor’s “I Will Survive” disguised from head to toe in an elaborate anthropomorphic Pineapple costume — was none other than comedic legend Tommy Chong.
After three rounds of sing-offs in which studio audience members voted to determine the results, Alien lost to Rabbit, Pineapple lost to Raven, and Poodle lost to Bee. Next, it was time for panelists Jenny McCarthy, Nicole Scherzinger, Ken Jeong and Robin Thicke to choose which member of the losing trio was the “weakest performer,” who would then be eliminated and unmasked. And that ended up being poor Pineapple.

Titans just finished its first season run on DC universe. Longtime fans of the superhero team have been waiting decades to see their favorite teenage heroes make their way to the live action world. The team began in the '60s but didn't really reach the pinnacle of their popularity until Marv Wolfman's take on the team. His incredibly successful "New Teen Titans" brought the team into the same legendary arena that their superheroic mentors in the Justice League were in. The run brought characters like Raven, Starfire, and Cyborg into the roster who would go on to be synonymous with the team. Wolfman also introduced legendary villains like Deathstroke, Trigon, and Blackfire who would repeatedly prove themselves as worthy adversaries to the team.
While the new series took several cues from the famous pages of decades of Teen Titans stories, the show also took a lot of liberties with the characters and storylines.

Titans brings up the shadow of Batman and Wonder Woman when Donna Troy comes to town to help Dick Grayson find his way.
This Titans review contains spoilers.
Titans Episode 8
If you’ve been reading my reviews throughout this season, you’ll know that I generally think Titans has been pretty good, with a flash of greatness here and there. But you also know that I’ve had my worries about the pacing of the series, and that it has had a tendency to give its side missions a little too mcuh prominence, at the expense of the main storyline. For example, “Doom Patrol” was excellent, and the “Jason Todd” episode was fascinating (if uneven), but both took a little too much focus off of the actual team building that needs to get done.
I fully expected “Donna Troy” to be a similar digression. After all, Donna is a crucial character in Teen Titans mythology,...

Titans puts its focus back on the team in an episode that leans on psychological and body horror.
This Titans review contains spoilers.
Titans Episode 7
“Asylum” is the second episode of Titans that Bryan Edward Hill (who recently did terrific team-focused work reintroducing The Outsiders to the DC Universe in the pages of Detective Comics) has had a hand in writing. Maybe it’s a coincidence, and maybe it’s not, but it’s also only the second episode that actually feels like a Titans show, not just a show about Dick Grayson. Both "Asylum" and "Together" have focused more on Titans as an actual ensemble show and they’ve definitely been the ones that get those team dynamics right, and perhaps are the best indicator of the kind of show that this is going to eventually become. And if that’s the case, I’m here for it.

If you're not a Titans comics fan, chances are you have no idea about the story of Robin.
Oh, sure, you may know the story of Batman, but who is Robin, exactly?
You're about to find out a lot about him. Well, at least you will if you subscribe to DC Universe and watch Titans.
Brenton Thwaites takes on the role of Dick Grayson, once a boy with a family. A boy who didn't lose his family and run To the circus, but a boy who was in the circus With his family, The Flying Graysons.
How did Robin wind up being mentored by Bruce Wayne aka Batman?
Titans: Teagan Croft on Going Dark as Raven, Parental Figures, & More!
All will be revealed on Titans Season 1 Episode 3, "Origins."
And guess what, Titans isn't afraid to mention Batman because on DC Universe, at least as far as the showrunners know, nothing is off limits to them.

For a movie that was bursting at the seams with buzz-worthy potential, Suicide Squad failed to become more than the sum of its parts.

Every new streaming service will have its moment in the sun, and for DC Universe that moment is coming on Oct. 12 when it begins streaming its first original live action series, Titans (which has already been renewed for a second season). Inspired by the Teen Titans comic book, it brings together superheroes Robin (as in Batman and...), the alien Starfire, Raven (the daughter of a world-threatening demon), and Beast Boy, a shapeshifter who can alter his appearance into any animal of his choosing. The group, consisting of superhero sidekicks, made its debut in 1964 in the pages of DC Comics, and sputtered along for a number of years, failing to truly catch on in any sort of meaningful way. "The Teen Titans was a second (or third) tier title at DC, falling behind their more successful team books like the Justice League of America and the Legion of Super-Heroes," explains Glen Cadigan,...

DC Universe has released a new poster for their upcoming series Titans and it assembles the four members of the team together. That team consists of Robin (Brenton Thwaites), Beast Boy (Ryan Potter), Raven (Teagan Croft), and Starfire (Anna Diop).
There’s been a lot of mixed reactions to this series, but from what I’ve seen, most of the reactions have been negative. That first trailer that was released probably wasn’t the best way to introduce the series.
When previously talking about the show, Thwaites talked about how the “fuck Batman” marketing is trying to let people know that this isn’t going to be a show about Batman, saying:
“It’s a show that isn’t about Batman, and I think it’s important for people to know that and maybe not be disappointed that they’re not going to see Batman jumping from the ceiling and beating up a hundred guys,...
