i came upon this movie by chance at a local mall. i was stunned to realize that one of my favorite actors of all time (Robert Mitchum) was starring in a Norwegian movie. i taught maybe it was just a cameo and that the distributors were taking advantage of his name. but he is a leading character. Cliff Robertson is very funny as the pessimistic psychiatrist. A very strong story of love and friendship! i cant believe i never heard of this. it is a Norwegian movie, but they speak English in almost the entire film. this is really a movie that should get more praise and attention. brilliant acting and a strong story! and some very funny moments to relief the sad ones.

I fully agree with what is said as Top Review, adding only that this was the last film with Robert Mitchum as the main character in a picture. And he has Norwegian ancestors by his mother side. It was a lovely swan song of a legend.
