Box Office – Munjya stays in 50 lakhs zone during weekdays ( Photo Credit – Instagram )
Weekdays were stable for Munjya in the fourth week as around 50 lakhs came from Monday to Wednesday. While Monday brought in 57 lakhs, Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday were 55 lakhs, 54 lakhs and 52 lakhs respectively. This is good because the film was anyways facing huge competition from Kalki 2898 Ad (Hindi). Moreover, it has been watched by its target audience and now whatever is coming is an added bonus.
There was a huge week-on-week drop, though, as the fourth week brought in 6.43 crores, which is a very sharp dip when compared to the third week of 24.63 crores. Munjya has anyways over-performed in its first couple of weeks when 36.50 crores and 34.50 crores respectively had come in, and a super strong hold in the third week had taken it close to the 100 crores mark. That milestone ass accomplished in the fourth week and...

Vikas Bahl Has Completed Queen 2 Script & Might Soon Collaborate With Kangana Ranaut ( Photo Credit – IMDb )
A few months back, Vikas Bahl and Kangana Ranaut hinted at a possible collaboration with the sequel of their blockbuster film Queen, and now Queen 2 is finally happening. The filmmaker has confirmed that he is done with the script of the sequel, and fans cannot contain their excitement ever since the news has dropped in.
However, it seems like Kangana Ranaut will have a huge target if she collaborates on the sequel, and beating the numbers of the first film will be a task almost next to impossible. Also, consider the fact that the film dropped at a time when the actress was climbing the ladder of success.
Now, 10 years later, a lot has changed – right from Kangana‘s persona to her image and right from the genre of films working at the box office.

The premiere of "Star Trek: Lower Decks" season 3 arrived on Paramount+ today, which is exciting twofold for Trekkies. Not only is one of the better "Trek" shows back, but "Lower Decks" in particular gives detail-obsessed nerds a chance to take out their notepads and go reference hunting. The "Lower Decks" writers clearly know "Star Trek" quite well, and their references from previous episodes run from the obvious to the downright oblique. One needs to look closely to see some of the clever in-jokes snuck into the background.
These kinds of references are cute, yes, but it's worth noting that callbacks and canonical mapping have long been a "Star Trek" birthright. In terms of sci-fi TV, the notion of a larger, expanded universe that is operating somewhere far beyond the events of the central show -- a universe that can be periodically visited -- is something that "Star Trek" helped pioneer.

In the age of peak TV, we’ve gotten to see many series which are constructed to be satisfying after just one season of storytelling. Exclusive: Grimm co-creators David Greenwalt and Jim Kouf have signed a new overall deal with Universal TV. Under the pact, the writing partners will continue as executive producers on the NBC drama, produced by Universal TV and Sean Hayes and Todd Milliner’s Hazy Mills. Grimm, which Greenwalt and Kouf co-created with Stephen Carpenter, was recently picked up for a third season with an early renewal. Grimm, inspired by the classic Grimm Brothers’ Fairy Tales, has been an unsung hero at NBC. It is the only series from the 2011-12 season, the first overseen by NBC’s current regime, to make it to season 3. A rare success story on Friday, Grimm is the night’s No.1 series in adults 18-49. Its most recent second season (6.9 million viewers, 2.4 in 18-49 in Live+7) was up 14% in 18-49 and 12% in total viewers vs. Season 1. Greenwalt and Kouf exec produce the series with Hayes,...

NBC is gearing up to premiere its latest foray into genre programming on Friday, October 28th: "Grimm," a new police procedural inspired by the classic Grimms’ fairy tales that centers around Portland homicide Detective Nick Burkhardt (David Giuntoli; Turn The Beat Around, Camera Obscura), who discovers he is descended from an elite line of criminal profilers known as "Grimms" that have been charged with keeping balance between humanity and the mythological creatures of the world.

More TV pilot casting news has come in (boy, are genre-themed shows popular this year!), this time for NBC's dark but fantastical cop drama "Grimm". Joining the cast as a "special guest star" is Kate Burton.
Over the years Burton's career has included varied roles in the likes of Big Trouble in Little China, "The Practice", "Rescue Me", and "Law & Order". According to TVLine in "Grimm" Burton will play the aunt of Nick (David Giuntoli), a police detective who starts to see humans as beast/animals and discovered that he has a legacy - to protect "humans" from these beasts. Aunty Kate possesses some dark secrets of her own, and if "Grimm" gets a series pickup, there’s a good chance her character will recur.
Other cast members include Russell Hornsby, Bitsie Tulloch, and Silas Weir Mitchell. "Grimm" was created by David Greenwalt ("Profit") and Jim Kouf ("Angel"), and the...

Stop us if you’ve heard this one before, but ABC’s Castle is bringing on a familiar face to help the NYPD get to the bottom of a case a bit bigger than they’re used to tackling. But whereas a year ago it was Dana Delany playing a prickly G-Woman, this Monday at 10/9c, you get Adrian Pasdar as a hardcore Homeland Security honcho. And whereas Delany’s FBI Agent Jordan Shaw was enlisted to track a serial killer picking off innocents one-by-one, Pasdar’s Agent Mark Fallon is on hand to stop someone from killing a whole lotta people at once.

On the Feb. 21 episode of ABC's "Castle," the first in a two-parter, Adrian Pasdar makes his first TV appearance since the unceremonious end of "Heroes" in 2010.
Playing Homeland Security agent Mark Fallon, Pasdar comes in to assist Castle (Nathan Fillion) and Beckett (Stana Katic) in uncovering a terror plot in New York. Head-butting ensues.
Pasdar tells Zap2it this isn't even his first opportunity to join the series. He was recently offered the role of Castle's friend (and murder suspect) in the Feb. 14 episode, "The Final Nail." He held out for something meatier, which happened pretty quickly.
"It just didn't seem appropriate," says Pasdar. "They came back a few weeks later with this episode. It was really well written, and it ended up being a two-parter."
From our viewing of the first part, we can confirm that it is one of the more suspenseful outings the show has ever put out,...

For the past few months, Steven Soderbergh has been all over the place with the cast and crew of Contagion. They've been shooting in San Francisco over the past week or so, and will close out work in that city with a massive scene at Candlestick Park that involves over 1000 extras. (The production manager for the film described the scene [1] at the 49ers home field as "like a large vaccination center.") Before that happens, we've got some set pics showing at least one urban setting for the film, which follows the outbreak and effects of a global pandemic. Contagion has shot in Geneva, Atlanta, Chicago, Hong Kong, London, Morocco before hitting Sf, which will be the film's final location. It stars Matt Damon, Jude Law, Gwyneth Paltrow, Kate Winslet, Marion Cotillard, John Hawkes, Laurence Fishburne, Bryan Cranston, Elliott Gould, Demetri Martin and many more. Actress/Producer Lisa Blount Dies
An Officer And A Gentleman star Lisa Blount has died, aged 53.
The Oscar-winner's mother found the actress-turned-producer dead at her home in Little Rock, Arkansas on Wednesday.
The Pulaski County Coroner, Garland Camper, has stated that Blount most likely passed away two days earlier on Monday, but he ruled there were no signs of foul play.
Blount was best known for her work onscreen in 1982 movie An Officer And A Gentleman alongside Richard Gere, as well as her role in John Carpenter's 1987 horror Prince Of Darkness and TV show Profit.
Blount later stepped behind the camera and became a successful producer, sharing an Academy Award with her actor/director husband Ray McKinnon for their 2001 short film, The Accountant.
Blount's cause of death was not known as WENN went to press.

Stephen J. Cannell didn’t produce every show on television during the late 1970s and 1980s—it just seemed like he did. The Rockford Files. The Greatest American Hero. The A-Team. Omg! I was so saddened to hear this news this afternoon. One of the greatest television creators, Stephen J. Cannell, has passed away today at 68 due to complications associated with melanoma. Here is a statement his family made to the press:
“Aside from being a legendary television producer and prolific writer, Stephen was also a devoted husband, loving father and grandfather, and a loyal friend. Mr. Cannell is survived by his high school sweetheart and wife of 46 years, Marcia, their three children, Tawnia, Chelsea and Cody and three grandchildren. Stephen was the pillar of strength within his family and he touched everyone he met. He will be most deeply missed. The family asks that in lieu of flowers donations be made to the American Cancer Society or The International Dyslexia Association. Details regarding his memorial service will be released.”

Sendhil Ramamurthy and Dania Ramirez had the misfortune to star as two of Heroes' most annoying characters: gasbag scientist Mohinder Suresh and poison-crying Maya Herrera. But Hollywood can forgive anything, and yesterday brought good casting news for both of them. Ramamurthy hopped into USA's Covert Affairs, while Ramirez will recur on the next season of Entourage. (She'll play Turtle's love interest. Hey, a job's a job.) I couldn't be happier for both actors. Ramirez was awesome as A.J.'s girlfriend during the final season of Sopranos, and Ramamurthy has been trying to escape from Mohinder's shadow for awhile now.

Ok, so maybe that title's a stretch. But the thing is, these are all television writers with solid track records and who could easily and happily fill up those hours of television NBC's handing over to Leno. We're sticking with writer-producers who specialize in drama, that could fill that 10 p.m. slot, and are not currently attached to any series (there's one exception), and a quick glance at IMDb doesn't indicate they have anything in development. There's no reason to believe they couldn't produce a compelling 13 hours of television (remember, we're going with the cable paradigm here -- 13 episodes and you're out.)

'Canceled' shows to be Trio staple
NEW YORK -- Universal-owned digital network Trio will transform its Brilliant but Canceled programming stunt into its primetime anchor in September. First introduced by the pop-culture channel as a monthlong initiative in December, Brilliant replayed such short-lived but critically acclaimed TV series as Profit, Kolchak: The Night Stalker and The Famous Teddy Z. Although which series will return has yet to be determined, Trio will schedule them at 8 p.m. weekdays. The network, available to 18 million homes, also said it will tweak its brand with a new logo and tag line. Previously described as "popular arts television," Trio's new tag line is "pop, culture, tv." Trio president Lauren Zalaznick believes the change emphasizes the network's embrace of the medium as a cultural force. "We're the first channel to celebrate TV as an art form," she said.
