A near perfect movie that should encourage amateur movie enthusiasts to get out their cameras and make something worthwhile. This is a little masterpiece. Two men each about to commit suicide meet on the roof of a tall building under construction. Surprised at first by each other's presence, they begin to console each other and sing together a popular song about "a new beginning". We are lulled into believing that all will be well and a happy ending will follow.....But what a clever twist to the story! The last minute of the film found me clutching my chair in sheer fright. The two actors hold one spellbound throughout. (Note the expressive facial closeups). The fear of heights and a struggle with a loaded revolver bring one close to a nervous breakdown. The credits at the end roll in the reverse direction for an obvious good reason. A wonderful film with attention to every detail and a very exciting climax.
