Producers invited every attractive young actress in Los Angeles to audition when they first started casting for the series. There were three rounds of auditions as producers and the casting director narrowed it down. Every actress who made it to the final round for roles requiring nudity were asked to strip to bra and panties, and then topless. Producers did body checks to make sure actresses weren't hiding something behind their clothes and that they were physically compatible for the role.
