The Girl on the River

A movie that changed my perspective on Vietnamese movies.

A film with an excellent script, anti-war content, extremely meaningful and profound about War, love, ideals and Vietnamese people. The film shows the dark side of both the Republic of Vietnam and the Democratic Republic of Vietnam. No matter which side a person is on, there is still love and mistakes

A plus point of the film is that the soundtrack was made by the late musician Trinh Cong Son.

A bit of history, this movie was initially banned due to its content, but was later approved (partly because the movie had sex scenes that were not suitable for Vietnam at that time).

The only weak points of the film I think are the acting, and the dialogue is a bit awkward. But overall it's excellent.
