Recently-deceased teenager Marty is sent back to earth to act as his best friend's guardian angel.

After Marty accidentally kills himself, he's appointed as a guardian angel to his best friend, Steve.

Steve has a crush on cheerleader Jessica Fishman, and Marty discovers she probably wouldn't date him, so he becomes Jessica for a night to go on a date with Steve.

Marty gives Steve the voice of an angel, making him the star of the choir and the object of desire for classmate Edie. Meanwhile, Marty has to help an elderly woman cross over to the other side.

Marty makes Judy's dog his disco date when he time-travels to the 1970's.

Steve has to dissect a frog for class, but can't bring himself to do it when Marty gives him the ability to talk.

Steve agrees to take younger sister Katie on a father-daughter camping trip. Soon, Steve realizes that the feather he plucked from Marty's wing and stuck in Katie's headdress has the power to grant wishes.

Marty gets jealous when Steve starts hanging out with Jordan. He uses his free time to find his uncle Lou in heaven.

Marty brings one of Katie's dolls to life to babysit her, but a misunderstanding occurs, and Steve ends up going on a date with the doll.

Marty sneaks Steve into a nightclub by making him look older. However, Steve never stops aging and soon he is an old man feeding pigeons on a park bench.

Marty is sad he will never get to turn 16, so Steve throws him a party when his family goes out of town. However, things go awry when Marty invites lots of deceased celebrities.

Steve auditions for Mutiny on the Bounty and gets the leading role.

Marty decides to travel back in time to prevent himself from dying, but his selfish actions have bizarre repercussions on the entire Beauchamp household.

Casey receives some heavenly intervention and decides to return to baseball. Also, Marty reunites Grampa Beauchamp with his late wife.
