Norwegian official selection for the 1998's Oscar in the Best Foreign Film category.
When the film was copied for distribution, a mishap in the lab resulted in some of the 35 mm copies being considerably darker than intended. Director Pål Sletaune commented that additional darkness makes the film a bit to gloomy.
