While 2004's The Prince and Me features Julia Stiles as the leading character, Paige Morgan, she was replaced for The Prince and Me 2, leading to speculation about why.
Stiles kicked off her career in the '90s with roles in films like The Devil's Own and Wicked (not to be confused with the 2024 adaptation of the Wicked stage play and its cast).
2004 then saw her rise to a new level of stardom with her leading role in Martha Coolidge's The Prince and Me alongside co-star Luke Mably

Your honor, I must confess — I have a mighty big soft spot for "The Devil's Advocate." The 1997 supernatural courtroom thriller stars Keanu Reeves as Kevin Lomax, a hotshot Florida lawyer (with the world's sketchiest Southern accent) who is recruited by a fiendish defense attorneys office in New York, run by the charismatic and slightly terrifying John Milton (Al Pacino). As he abandons his morals in order to win cases, Kevin's wife Mary Ann (Charlize Theron) starts having horrific visions with demonic influences. You see, Milton isn't just devilishly handsome and talented, he's also actually the devil himself.
"The Devil's Advocate" completely hinges on Pacino's performance, as he plays Milton with a kind of outlandish delight that only a rare few of our greatest actors could ever attempt. It's a little bit Tony Montana from "Scarface" when he's on copious amounts of coke and a little bit Lieutenant Hanna from "Heat,...

Ryan Reynolds really made Rob McElhenney fly out to the Deadpool & Wolverine set, get into costume and wander around a soundstage all day just to cut his scene from the movie. Next we’re going to find out that Reynolds was the one who convinced McElhenney to become Fat Mac, too.
The It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia creator and star’s ongoing bromance with his Welcome to Wrexham partner Reynolds is a slightly divisive topic within the Always Sunny fandom, but over in the Deadpool fandom, we haven’t heard a peep about McElhenney dragging down Reynolds in his super-antihero trilogy — probably because Reynolds still won’t let McElhenney anywhere near his personal projects. Netflix’s list of new releases for June 2024 look suspiciously like last month’s.
That’s because the biggest item on the schedule is Bridgerton season 3 once again. The final four episodes of Bridgerton‘s third season will premiere on June 13. Polin fans everywhere, rejoice! Other TV items of note this month include the third and final season of Sweet Tooth (June 6), Worst Roommate Ever season 2 (June 26), and That ’90s Show Part 2 (June 28).
Bridgerton aside, Netflix’s original movie options this month might be even more impressive than the TV slate. Richard Linklater’s Hitman, which stars Glen Powell as the titular assassin, premieres on June 7. That will be followed by documentary Black Barbie on June 19, the Jessica Alba-starring Trigger Warning on June 21, and romcom A Family Affair on June 28
Here’s everything else coming to Netflix this month. Note that Netflix marks its international offerings with that respective country’s two-letter country code.

Harrison Ford has been a leading man in the industry for more than 40 years. The actor has been a part of many iconic and acclaimed films that have shaped him as an actor. Malachy McCourt, the Irish-American actor, raconteur and author best known to TV audiences for his long-running role as Kevin the bartender on ABC’s soap Ryan’s Hope, died today in Manhattan after battling a heart condition and cancer. He was 92.

The late 1990s had an odd fascination with the Devil and the end of days that gave audiences all kinds of crazy films with varied levels of success. Most of these seemed to come out right around 1999, the end of the millennium when people were starting to panic. However, some of these end of days films came out earlier and set the trend. 1997 was an odd year that saw the release of Dante’s Peak, The Devil’s Own, Volcano, the original Open Your Eyes, Seven Years in Tibet, and a bunch more. There was a trend for the end of days, but also a search for religion which then led to the perfect storm of both with The Devil’s Advocate (watch it Here), a bit end of days, a bit of religious mayhem, and a whole lot of cautionary tale.
In 1997, folks were getting ready for the big millennium change, but...

10 Things I Hate About Julia Stiles
I hate that her idgaf attitude was not present in more 90s teen rom coms.
I hate that I totally forgot about the movie Save The Last Dance.
I hate that she doesn’t get the respect she deserves.
I hate that I thought she was in that movie Swimfan.
I hate that she got stuck doing generic rom coms.
I hate that her character in the Jason Bourne franchise never got a spin-off.
I hate that I really haven’t seen much of her later work.
I hate that she tricked me into liking Shakespeare as a teen.
But most of all, I hate the way I don’t hate her – not even close, not even a little bit, not even at all. Oh, and I hate that I don’t know what the heck happened to her?
So let’s find out: Wtf Happened to.

Brad Pitt, 59, and Harrison Ford, 80, clashed while working together on The Devil’s Own.
In a new interview with Esquire, Ford said filming the movie in 1997 was “complicated” with the Meet Joe Black actor.
The Devil’s Own is about a man, Rory Devaney, who stays with policeman Tom O’Meara and his family in New York City. While living with them, O’Meara’s house is broken into by intruders. O’Meara soon realizes that Devaney is part of the Irish Republican Army and that Devaney is in the States to transport illegal guns to Dublin.

Harrison Ford is one of the biggest names in Hollywood. With Indiana Jones and Star Wars under his belt, it’s no wonder he’s worked with plenty of big-name celebrities through the years. Unfortunately, Ford and Brad Pitt reportedly didn’t get along so well while working on the 1997 film The Devil’s Own. And Ford made way more money from the film than Pitt did.

Two major actors. Two egos. Two ideas of the director and the storyline. Add it up and you have drama, as Harrison Ford related in an Esquire interview.

Ford also said that he wanted to have a more complex storyline for his character in the film. Ford portrayed NYPD Sergeant Tom O’Meara, whose family takes in an Irish construction worker, Rory Devaney (Pitt). They soon discover that Devaney is an Ira operative seeking to buy missiles.

Harrison Ford is taking some responsibility for the tension that developed with Brad Pitt during the making of their 1997 thriller “The Devil’s Own.” The film, which notably marked the last directorial effort from Alan J. Pakula, earned mixed reviews but grossed $140 million worldwide. Ford has often said in past interviews that it was difficult filming “The Devil’s Own.” When Esquire magazine recently asked why, Ford said it was due to creative differences he had with Pitt.
“Heh. Yeah, I remember why,” Ford said. “Brad developed the script. Then they offered me the part. I saved my comments about the character and the construction of the thing — I admired Brad. First of all, I admire Brad. I think he’s a wonderful actor. He’s a really decent guy. But we couldn’t agree on a director until we came to Alan Pakula, who I had worked with before but Brad had not.

Harrison Ford has had feuds with several big-name actors throughout the course of his career, from Alec Baldwin over the Jack Ryan role to Josh Hartnett on the set of Hollywood Homicide. And you can add Brad Pitt to that list, who Harrison Ford butted heads with while making the 1997 thriller The Devil’s Own.
While Harrison Ford does praise Brad Pitt overall, he says in a new Esquire profile that their issues stemmed from exploring their characters and developing the screenplay. “Brad developed the script. Every now and then, an actor is vocal about disliking a film they once starred in.
While the question “Do you have any career biggest regrets?” may be one of the more obvious ones a journalist can ask an actor. the answer can sometimes be extremely revealing.
Many Hollywood stars have spoken negatively about their past choices, and have even poked fun at the role during an appearance in another one of their films.
Others – for example: Charlize Theron – have admitted accepting a film purely based on the director’s filmography, only to then be let down by the final results of their collaboration.

The Boondock Saints became a giant cult hit when it hit home video and, indeed, is a movie both loved and hated on this site. The film seemed to come out of nowhere. No one seemed to remember its theatrical run, but word of mouth soon made this film a huge underground hit. Why was this film so unknown? A multitude of factors played into the film’s mystery. Bad timing for the release, possibly bad word of mouth from a very famous studio head, and the biggest problem with the whole thing, the writer/director.
Troy Duffy had moved out to Los Angeles to try and find success with his band, The Brood. They booked gigs playing in numerous taverns but hadn’t made much headway in securing a studio contract. While he waited for his big moment to happen, he got a job slinging drinks at the bar J.

“What are your biggest regrets?” This might be one of the more obvious questions a journalist can ask an actor, but the answer can often be hugely revealing.

There have been plenty of dodgy British accents by American actors down the years, from Dick van Dyke's Cockney chimney sweep in "Mary Poppins" to Robert Downey Jr's bizarre take on Welsh in "Dolittle." Brad Pitt chipped in with his attempt at a Norn Iron accent in "The Devil's Own," which the Belfast Telegraph ranked among the worst Irish accents in film history. We all know Pitt loves an accent — that was the same year he also hinted at Austrian in "Seven Years in Tibet," convincing absolutely nobody.

This is the true meaning of a double date! Who could forget Brad Pitt and Gwyneth Paltrow's twinning look at the 1997 premiere of The Devil's Own? The then-couple, who dated from 1994 to 1997, attended the movie together in matching black suits and side-swept blonde bobs, making it clear they were practically joined at the hip. But why did they decide to go matchy-matchy? Paltrow is finally revealing how the pop culture moment came to be. And according to her, it was actually unintentional, as hard as that might be to believe. She reflected on some of her standout hair looks in an Instagram video to promote her Goopglow Hair Serum this week. Paltrow told...

Welcome to The B-Side, from The Film Stage. Here we talk about filmmakers! Not the movies that made them famous or kept them famous, but the ones that they made in between.
Today, Conor and I bring in the big guns (One Heat Minute Productions creator Blake Howard) to discuss one of the great filmmakers: Alan J. Pakula. After making a name for himself as a producer (he earned an Oscar nomination for To Kill a Mockingbird), Pakula emerged as a seminal New Hollywood director with his “paranoia trilogy:” Klute (1971), The Parallax View (1974), and All the President’s Men (1976). And yet, he is rarely acknowledged in the upper-echelon of great 70s filmmakers like Coppola or De Palma.
On this episode we focus on Pakula’s underseen, unassuming western Comes a Horseman, his over-cooked domestic thriller Consenting Adults, and his final film The Devil’s Own, which stars Harrison Ford and Brad Pitt.

He retired after the 1997 movie The Devil's Own. Through much of the 1970s, Willis was the cameraman whom some of Hollywood's top directors relied on during one of filmmaking's greatest eras.

To him, no matter what the season was, this was still a town that existed in black and white and pulsated to the great tunes of George Gershwin. Mm. No. Let me start this over." Don't bother, Woody. You got it right the first time, and to provide that black-and-white counterpoint to the soaring sounds of Gershwin, cinematographer Gordon Willis shot some of the greatest images of New York City ever burned onto celluloid. Black-and-white felt like a perfect form of expression for Willis, who was referred to by many filmmakers as "The Prince Of Darkness,...

It's not often you hear about an A-list celebrity like Brad Pitt apologizing to a gossip columnist. But that's exactly what the World War Z star did some years ago. He explained that when he was in town shooting The Devil's Own, he'd rented an...

So many actors have tried, and so many actors have failed. Accents have long proven to be one of the hardest things to hone when it comes to a film role. While Irish seems to be the most challenging of dialects to lock down, there are also other accents — even American — that have yet to be mastered in cinema.
Playing a Serbian posing as a Bosnian in the upcoming "Killing Season," John Travolta is going a rare route. It's debatable whether he can pull it off, but he doesn't have to worry about sounding all sorts of wrong if he's in the company of these actors with the worst movie accents.

Playing a maid with a knack for cracking safes, Sidibe didn't initially plan on her character having a Jamaican accent. But "Tower Heist" director Brett Ratner requested it, and even with the use of a dialect coach,...
