Little Boy Blue is fast asleep. Earlier today, Lauren Conrad shared another adorable photo of her 2-month-old son Liam Tell. "Sunday snuggles with this little guy," the Hills star wrote in her Instagram caption. Her son was wrapped in a blanket from The Little Market, a digital fair trade market she co-founded with Hannah Svarkla in 2013 that sells handmade goods from artisan cooperatives across the world. Lauren introduced her son to the public in the Aug. 14 issue of People. The fashion designer and husband William Tell welcomed their firstborn child on July 5. He weighed 6 lbs., 14 oz. at the time of his birth, which surprised Lauren. "I was convinced I was having a giant baby, to the point...

Fables has had a pretty difficult journey to the big screen, and though it hasn't quite made it there yet, the latest news is encouraging at least. During an interview with Cbr, producer David Heyman provides the first update we've has on the DC/Vertigo adaptation since June of 2013 when it was announced that Nikolaj Arcel would be directing. According to Heyman, Arcel is still very much on board, but Jane Goldman (co-writer of Kick-Ass, X-Men: First Class, Kingsman: The Secret Service and more) is currently working on the latest draft of the script. As for why the project has taken so long to get off the ground, Heyman says: "these things always take longer than you want. And Fables is not easy by any means, but I think it'll be pretty great". The premise sees a bunch of fairytale characters (variations on Snow White, the Big Bad Wolf, Little Boy Blue...

Michael Emerson is happy, guys. Really, really, really happy.
Emerson famously played creepy Benjamin Linus on Lost and now plays an equally intense character on Person of Interest. He went on The Arsenio Hall Show Wednesday night and claimed that he’s not actually like the people he plays on TV — and to prove this, Emerson performed Pharrell Williams’ “Happy.” It’s like that time he read “Little Boy Blue” on Fallon, except this time, he’s also wearing an Arby’s hat.
Emerson didn’t exactly radiate joy in his spoken-word rendition of the song, but he did show off his comedy chops.

NBC’s primetime Tuesday coverage of the Olympics was filled with chilly thrilling spills, as crazy weather bedeviled crazier sports. The women competing in the Alpine Giant Slalom faced rough terrain, while the men competing in Snowboard Cross faced rough terrain and the fact that Snowboard Cross is basically a demolition derby without any safety protocols. Summer Olympians Lolo Jones and Lauryn Williams crossed over into a whole new weather pattern, competing in the Women’s Bobsled (or “Bobsleigh,” as they call it in Westeros.)

According to reports, the Vertigo fantasy comic book series "Fables" by Bill Willingham, is being fast-tracked as a 3D feature:
The new film will be directed by Nikolaj Arcel ("A Royal Affair") from a screenplay by Jeremy Slater for producers David Heyman and Jeffrey Clifford of Heyday Films:
"...'Fables' imagines that all the characters from the world’s most beloved storybooks are real - real, and living among us, with all of their powers intact. From 'Snow White' and the 'Big Bad Wolf', to 'Goldilocks' and 'Little Boy Blue', these beloved characters are alive and well - but they’ve been exiled from the land of fairy tales.
"Escaping the mysterious 'Adversary', they have relocated to a magically camouflaged New York City neighborhood known as 'Fabletown'.
"To survive in the mundane world, the Fables will have to fight for their happily ever after..."

DC and Vertigo’s Fables, the brilliant fairy tale set in New York city, is getting another shot at an adaptation. It had once before been optioned into a film, and then a TV show, and now it appears that David Heyman of Harry Potter fame and his Heyday Films label is producing a second shot at a Fables movie.
They’ve hired Oscar nominee Nikolaj Arcel as the director, who’s Danish film A Royal Affair met wide acclaim. The script is written by Jeremy Slater, who also wrote the upcoming Fantastic Four reboot.
Bill Willingham and Mark Buckingham’s brilliant creation started in 2002 and hasn’t looked back since, following the Big Bad Wolf, Snow White and Little Boy Blue in a new setting: New York City. I hope this turns out well.

DC Comics and Vertigo’s comic book series Fables is finally coming to the big screen! I was wondering when they would get around to adapting this thing. Harry Potter producer David Hayman is working on developing with the film, and Nikolaj Arcel has been hired to direct it. I'm not familiar with any of the director's work, but he made a Danish film called A Royal Affair.
Fables is an incredibly cool comic that was created by Bill Willingham in 2002. The story centers on several fairytale characters such as Snow White, Cinderella, the Big Bad Wolf, Little Boy Blue and others who are kicked out of their world and now live in a secret pocket of New York City. Jeremy Slater is set to write the script for the film. Slater hasn't done much, but he's also currently working on the Fantastic Four reboot.

That sound you hear is the sound of one of comics' most loyal fandoms crying out, as if suddenly given the exact thing they want. Or close to it, at least.
The Hollywood Reporter just broke the news that "Fables," one of DC Comics' longest running comic books, has been singled out for a big screen adaptation with a director, producer and writer all attached. Nikolaj Arcel ("A Royal Affair") will direct, up-and-comer Jeremy Slater will add penning the screenplay to his resume right after 2015's "Fantastic Four" reboot, and David Heyman and Jeffrey Clifford (the "Harry Potter" films) will produce.
"Fables" follows the adventures of fairy tale and folklore characters like Snow White, the Big Bad Wolf, Prince Charming, Cinderella, Little Boy Blue and dozens more as they attempt to survive in modern times after being expelled from their homeland by a mysterious evil known as the Adversary.

While Warner Bros. waits to see how "Man Of Steel" does in a couple of weeks, which in turn will decide what happens with the massive roster of DC Comics properties they are currently sitting on, it seems some small moves are being made. Stuck in development hell forever, it looks like DC/Vertigo series "Fables" has finally found a helmer...and it's something of an unlikely choice. Nikolaj Arcel, who broke out with last year's lovely and compelling drama "A Royal Affair," has been tapped to helm "Fables." But what does a period drama guy know about comic tentpoles? Well, actually, he does have some form with spectacles, having directed 2007's Danish kids adventure movie "Island Of Lost Souls" (trailer below.) So the idea of him tackling the Bill Willingham-penned series that focuses on characters from folklore -- Snow White, Cinderella, Big Bad Wolf, Little Boy Blue, etc...

The "Once Upon a Time" executive producers recently told TV Guide that they're hoping to find a part on the show for another "Lost" alum - Jorge Garcia, the awesome Hurley on the former hit drama.
The TV Guide writers float the idea of Stromboli, the villainous Pinocchio character, as a possible role for Garcia, which isn't bad at all. But it got us thinking - who else might Garcia play?
In the traditional, well-known fairy tales, there aren't a ton of male characters left. The one that springs to mind first for us is The Beast of "Beauty and the Beast." Plus then we'd get some awesome make-up.
But branching off a bit - the show has already touched on "Alice's Adventures in Wonderland," which opens up a whole host of characters from that book and its sequel, "Through the Looking Glass." There's the Jabberwocky, the Red and White kings,...

I've always had a thing for Ryan Phillippe, going back to Little Boy Blue, which was an admittedly twisted movie, but at least he showed off his butt. Now he's set to direct himself in Shreveport, in which he'll play a fading movie star that gets kidnapped and tortured.
My friend Rod McCullom has a fantastic piece in Ebony looking at the evolution of gay rights in Kenya, and how outside of South Africa, they're leading the way for gay rights on the continent.
Dan Savage tweeted without thinking again, giving the right wing fodder by saying what he shouldn't have. I love the good Dan has done in the world, but I wish he wouldn't say reckless things.
The ballot for marriage equality in Maine seems simple – "Do you want to allow same-sex couples to marry?" But both sides take issue with the wording – marriage equality advocates say it...

I'm happy to say Puss in Boots is hardly a Shrek franchise spin-off. The titular character may have had his debut alongside the big green ogre back in 2004, but here he is more than just a smooth-talking, glassy-eyed sidekick. In his first headlining adventure Puss is a debonair, leche-sipping outlaw and unlike the Shrek franchise, the use of Lady Gaga's "Americano" is about as pop culture as this animated adventure gets, which is to say screenwriter Tom Wheeler recognized the failings of so many recent animated films and their reliance on pop culture in-jokes and decided story comes first.
Serving as an origin story for the swashbuckling feline, Puss in Boots begins by exploring the roots of the cat that would soon wear the boots of legend. Growing up in an orphanage in San Ricardo, Puss (voiced by Antonio Banderas) becomes fast friends with Humpty Dumpty (voiced by Zach Galifianakis...

I love fairy tales. Those are usually the stories that introduce us to the idea that good people are rewarded and bad people are punished – eventually. I also love stories based on fairy tales, giving us a new perspective and showing us that maybe things aren’t as black and white as they seem. I also like detective stories, which is what I loved about the original Hoodwinked. Hoodwinked Too: Hood vs. Evil picks up where the first movie left off, with the characters now working for the Happily Ever After agency, and Granny has been kidnapped by an evil witch.
The movie is full of twists that actually are set up from the opening credits, if you think about it, but you ignore it while you watch them. Sure, a misunderstood bad guy that isn’t really evil is just par for the course – but bad guys that you...

Tina Fey and Justin Bieber are a pretty tought act for even a seasoned comedian to follow, and Ryan Phillippe isn't exactly known for eliciting laughs. With the exception of next month's "MacGruber," his IMDb filmography is chock-full of movies about life being unfair and love ending in tragedy.
We had some serious doubts as to whether the guy from "Stop-Loss", "Little Boy Blue" and "I Know What You Did Last Summer" could make us laugh.
But we have to admit that while Andy Samberg stole the spotlight an awful lot in the April 17 episode, Phillippe did shine when he played to his strengths. And no, by 'strengths' we're not talking about the six-pack he showed off when he flashed his cover of Men's Health. (Well, we're not only talking about that.)
Phillippe's monologue time was mostly occupied by recurring SNL characters like Kristen Wiig's Target Lady, Andy Samberg...
