5/10

A black&white Slavic attempt intersection of Godard and Tarantino

Rusinovic's film represents the peak of quality Croat filmmakers achieved by now."Mondo Bobo" is a simple multi-layered rework of Godard seen by an author who had experienced Tarantino's work. There are also influences of Czech and Polish cinema especially in the aspect of girl journalist character.Visually it is a refreshing attempt even though authors around the world went through the phase of rediscovery of black&white photography.Tarantinoid dialogue severely burdens the minimalistic structure of the movie. Most potent scenes are featured in the climax of the movie which revisits Godard's sentiment from "Breathless".Even though it is an entertaining yarn that got a bit overrated.

4/10

Balkan cinema of the 1990s

The film has a pretty good hard rock soundtrack, the ending is great, the editing is also good and there are some nice scenes like the one on the bridge, but overall its a noisy film with typical balkan drivel throughout.
