- Lord Rayden: But, if I reunited her with Sindel, how can I be sure that the portals will stay closed until the next tournament?
- Elder Water God: Only if Shao Kahn is destroyed should the future be safe.
- Elder God of Wind: By living amongst the humans, do you really care for them?
- Lord Rayden: More than I can remember.
- Elder Water God: Do you love them so much to sacrifice your immortality?
- [Rayden thinks about his deicsion]
- Sonya Blade: Wait a minute; that tattoo, I've seen it before; on a robot and a woman. They both tried to kill me.
- Jax: If I'm going to die today, please tell me why.
- Sonya Blade: Nobody told me why Johnny had to die.
- Shao Kahn: It is also true I need a new general. You can die in duty or buy my hand, the choice is yours.

- Shao Kahn: It was your job to lure them to an ambush. If they have escaped, then you failed me!
- Jade: We could never have stopped them alone.
- Sindel: Listen to her. She speaks the truth. We would have died trying.
- Shao Kahn: [to Sindel] You... you're already dead!
- [to Jade]

- [suddenly, a large creature emerges and devours Jade whole]
