This film follows the relationship of two Jewish students living in Paris, and how their initially deep friendship gradually drifts apart. It is powerful and will remind some viewers of the natural (albeit sometimes very sad) loss of friendship. One girl (Ethel) tends to do quite well, whilst the other (Mina) is more sensitive and finds more difficulties in life, as she is very introvert. It concludes with a powerful climax.
I enjoyed every moment of this film, it is well directed, the acting is flawless, and it was a really moving, touching film. Perhaps ultimately emphasizing the importance of good friendships. Highly recommended!

I watched this movie once around 1995, and it made a lasting impression on me. I remember it as a beautiful and sad story of the joys and perils of female friendship. The acting was wonderful and the storyline was engaging. Strange that the director only made three movies. I really wish that this movie was available with English subtitles either on DVD or on one of the numerous streaming services, but it seems impossible to locate. Have had to resort to small clips on youtube instead. Would love to see it again and check whether I still love it. Please let me know if you have found it anywhere!
