The entire film is shot in and round the classic New Amsterdam Theatre on 42nd street in NYC. Originally build in the 20's and used for the famous Ziegfeld Follies. It is now owned by Disney and totally refurbished.
Louis Malle, Wallace Shawn and Andre Gregory also collaborated in My Dinner with Andre (1981). Shawn and Gregory also worked together in A Master Builder (2013).
