Crown Prosecutor was never going to be sexy in a LA Law kind of way. It was set in Birmingham, it was based in some cheap office with brick walls and it dealt with prosecutors, the ones that want to find the defendant guilty.
Michael Praed was the main star but there was an ensemble cast. Each episode was 30 minutes long and the series only lasted one series of 10 episodes.
Each show would have a primary plot of a court case with subplots that lead to the development of the show's cast of characters.
Very much from the opening episode with the set design this series was never going to be a runner. It looked turgid, it looked cheap with is videotape quality. It was more suited to be an afternoon drama than a prime time evening drama and it was dull although the cast did their best with the material they had.
