I love this serial! And though I in general do not watch the series at all, this film is a remarkable exception of a great quality. Marek Kondrat is here like a Michele Placido in La Piovra - he is an honest, brave and desperado policeman who fights against the mafia. In the first season, his main enemy is a Russian mafioso Iwanow, who is not a bloody killer. No, he looks like a very intelligent and well-read man, who anyway is a merciless murderer and a drug dealer. What makes this film so good is the chilling truth - almost everyone who tries to help Marek is killed by the mafia or by corrupt police, the main hero is risking the lives of his wife and daughter, he is mocked at and ridiculed. And at the end of the first season we see him being terribly humiliated at the press conference where he tries to prove that some certain political figures are corrupt, too. You feel Marek's indignation and his utmost pain when he sees that all he has done is ruined, that all his allies are dead and he is looked at like a silly clown. The tile song Twoje Miasto (Your City) is a marvelous combination of a powerful rock and stunning rap. I do recommend this serial for all who like honest police films.
