Their source is one of Rupert Murdoch's rags, citing a Facebook posting by one of the actor's friends. The cause of death was purportedly – no specific source was provided – a drug overdose.* Aired on Fox in July 1990, Glory Days told the story of four high-school friends whose paths take different directions after graduation. Besides Nicholas Kallsen and Brad Pitt, the show also featured Spike Alexander and Evan Mirand. Jayne Meadows, an Emmy-nominated actress known for her role on the TV series High Society, as well as the game show I've Got a Secret, died Sunday, April 26, of natural causes, Entertainment Tonight reports. She was 95 years old. Born in China to missionary parents, Meadows first rose to fame in the 1940s. In 2012, CBS premiered a new show about two odd-couple male pals. It was called Partners, and on the surface, it seemed to have everything going for it—a prime slot following How I Met Your Mother, a great pedigree courtesy of two ’90s sitcom wizards (it was created by Max Mutchnick and David Kohan of Will & Grace fame), two charismatic stars (Michael Urie and David Krumholtz). Even so, Partners failed to gain traction. Critics griped that its old-fashioned jokes were tired rather than appealingly retro; just a few weeks into the 2012-2013 TV season, it became one of the first shows to get the ax.

Lucky Monkey Pictures and Sh-k-Boom Records announced today Academy Award-and Tony Award nominated actress Anna Kendrick and Tony Award and Grammy Award nominated Jeremy Jordan (“Smash,” “Joyful Noise”) will star in the film adaptation of Jason Robert Brown’s acclaimed musical The Last 5 Years to be written and directed by Academy Award nominee Richard Lagravenese.

Lauren Versel, Kurt Deutsch, Richard Lagravenese and Janet Brenner will produce. Steve Norman will Co Produce. Steven Meizler, who has worked extensively with Steven Spielberg, David Fincher and Steven Soderbergh, is the Director of Photography. The film begins shooting this week in New York City. CAA will handle domestic sales, with Brian O’Shea and Nat McCormick handling international sales for The Exchange.

I promised all the other "Venture Brothers" fanatics out there that I'd update them as soon as I heard anything about a new season. Well, since Jackson Publick has not posted anything of substance on his blog for about four months, I wasn't checking every day and missed the post he put up on Saturday about the new season. I saw it yesterday after I'd already written yesterday's column so I'm sure most of you die hard fans have already seen it. For those of you who haven't; Season 4.2 will begin airing sometime in August, there's no official date yet. Yes it blows, but that's what's happening. There are also "Venture Brothers" action figures set to come out sometime around July, and season 4.1 will get it's own DVD release sometime in late summer or fall.
