The club featured in the film was actually a small business office building next to McDonald's in Queens, New York that was completely converted to the look in the film by production designer Mel Bourne. It is now abandoned, and remains unused to this day.
David Caruso was paid $1 million for appearing in this film, which he made in the hiatus between his first and short-lived second season of NYPD Blue (1993).
In the opening, when Jimmy (David Caruso) walks down the same street to his house, it's the same street as in the original film, Kiss of Death (1947).
In an interview, Nicolas Cage said he thought of Little Junior's personality as "a big horrible baby".
