If loose lips sink ships, as the old saying goes, the participants in the homicide of How to Get Away With Murder‘s Sam Keating might be headed for a Titanic-sized disaster.

“All the characters [involved in the killing and disposing of Sam] are very normal people. They’re not used to holding a secret this big,” teases showrunner Pete Nowalk. “And we’ll actually see one of them divulge that secret to someone outside the group” in Thursday’s 2015 premiere (10/9c on ABC). “I don’t want to say who spills the beans,” he adds. “But it won’t be the person you expect.”

The CW’s The Originals this Monday night drew a season-high 1.7 million total viewers and a 0.7 demo rating, up 12 percent and a tenth week-to-week.

Jane the Virgin led out of that with 1.6 mil and a 0.6, up 15 percent and a tenth to best-since-debut numbers.

All told, The CW’s line-up was up 66 and 75 percent versus a year ago’s Dixie/Beast combo, drawing its best Monday numbers since Oct. 2011 and Dec. 2012, respectively.

NBC | Celeb Apprentice (6.4 mil/1.8) and State of Affairs (4.5 mil/1.0) each dipped a tenth.

ABC | The Bachelor (7.9 mil/2.2) rose 4 percent and a tenth to hit and tie season highs.

Guillaume Canet’s French thriller “Tell No One” was one of the best movies I saw in 2008 and Gavin O’Connor’s “Warrior” was my favorite film of 2011, so it’s fitting that O’Connor is in negotiations to direct an English-language remake of Tell No One” for Universal and Warner Bros. The twist-filled story has a simple premise: A doctor is implicated in the disappearance of his wife, and several years later, he receives an email suggesting she is still alive. The Secret Agenda Of Trees is set in a rural community in the backwoods of America where escape and fantasy substitute for hope: a tattered bond holds together Veronica, a 13-year-old girl who survives on a dream-life filled with Rosemary Clooney and Veronica Lake, and her mother, who dulls the pain of work at a slaughterhouse with booze and meth. As Veronica develops a dubious crush on a tattooed boy from study hall, and her mother invites a mysterious stranger into their ramshackle home, the cycles of dependency become increasingly dangerous and holding the world at bay may prove impossible.

Veteran actor Michael Wincott has been added to the cast of the indie drama The Assassination of Richard Nixon for director Niels Mueller. Set during the 1970s, Nixon centers on the true story of Philadelphia furniture salesman Sam Byck (Sean Penn), who hatches a plot to kill Richard Nixon after Byck's attempts to live out the American dream are dashed. Byck had planned to hijack a commuter flight in Atlanta and crash the airliner into the White House. Wincott will star as the older brother of Penn's character. Naomi Watts and Don Cheadle round out the cast. Mueller and Kevin Kennedy penned the screenplay. The project is being produced through Jason Kliot and Joana Vicente's New York-based Open City Films banner, with Monsoon Entertainment -- headed by Alfonso Cuaron, Jorge Vergara and Arnaud Duteil -- financing. Wincott is repped by Brillstein-Grey's Danny Sussman and Jai Khanna. His other credits include The Count of Monte Cristo, Along Came a Spider, Before Night Falls, Hidden Agenda and Alien: Resurrection.
