Zwei Tote im Sender und Don Carlos im Pogl

One of the most funny films I have ever seen. It provides deep insights into how television is made in the so called "Öffentlich-rechtliche Fernsehanstalten" that were typical of German television from the fifties to the early eighties. But even today these dinosaurs still exist and work similar to how they are portrayed in this picture. The fundamental guideline of the channel in this movie (and this is a bit exaggerated) is the Pogl - "POlitisches GLeichgewicht", the political balancing of the two major political parties of Germany in this channel. A foreign author is thrust into the processes of a television channel, because one of his books is to be filmed for the "Fernsehspiel". A "young" and promising director hosts him and tries to explain the myriad of unbelievable ongoings that happen all around them and that are taken for granted by the people working there. I will not say more as it could not do this film justice.
