This article contains minor spoilers for "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem."
I am a person of an age where I have never known a world without the "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles." The first issue of the comic book featuring the characters was released in 1984, a full six years before I was born. This meant I was the perfect age to watch the live-action films of the early 90s, with repeated rentals from my local video store. I also grew up watching the admittedly dreadful "Ninja Turtles: The Next Mutation" live-action TV series, relegating me forever to the embarrassing Venus de Milo status in my childhood friend group, despite my last name being 4/5 of the pronunciation of an already existing turtle.
This is to say I have a great love and appreciation for the work of Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird, the two men responsible for bringing Leonardo, Raphael, Donatello,...

Trailblazer. Icon. Turtle. These are just a few of the words one could use to describe Venus de Milo, a character largely forgotten by pop culture despite being entirely unforgettable.
On Sept. 12, 1997, Fox Kids debuted Ninja Turtles: The Next Mutation, the first (and still only) live-action series based on the popular franchise. It was a massive undertaking, former President of Motion Pictures and Television for Saban Lance H. Robbins recalls to TVLine, including “the biggest sets we’d ever done for a show, including Power Rangers, to make that long tunnel in underground New York.”

You get the distinct impression that Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is just one of those brands that’ll get rebooted in perpetuity, with five live-action and one animated movie hitting the big screen over the last 30 years, as well as six TV shows. The last feature length outing for the heroes in a half shell was a major disappointment, with Out of the Shadows earning less than half as much at the box office as its predecessor.
Wasting absolutely no time, two years later it was announced that yet another reboot was in the works, this time with the unexpected news of Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg producing through their Point Grey Pictures banner. The presence of the comedy specialists indicates that there’s going to be a rich vein of humor running through the next version of the property, but Rogen has promised it’ll also deal with the realities of being a teenager,...

The family of late actor Kirby Morrow, known for his voice roles on “Dragon Ball Z,” Lego’s “Ninjago” and many more series, is raising money to start a scholarship in his honor.
Morrow died in late November at 47 years old, and his brother Casey Morrow and the Calgary Foundation in Alberta, Canada, started a GoFundMe to help launch the Kirby Morrow Memorial Scholarship Fund.
“Kirby loved helping people, especially new performers learn and get started in the industry, so our family decided to create a memorial scholarship in his name,” Casey told Variety.
Created on Friday, the fundraiser has a goal of $50,000 to help people pursuing an education in the performing arts.
“Our goal is to create a lasting legacy in his name, and maybe some day it will help another Kirby from some small town realize their dreams,” the GoFundMe post reads.

The Nickelodeon-owned Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles franchise is set for yet another—to briefly borrow its parlance—totally tubular radical reboot, which is now set to launch in the form of a new theatrical animated feature film.
This time, according to Deadline, the fighting foursome will star in a CGI-conjured cinematic offering that will see Nickelodeon team with Point Grey Pictures, the shingle of Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg and James Weaver, with Paramount set to distribute globally. Ramsey Naito, EVP, Animation Production and Development, will oversee the project on Nickelodeon’s behalf, with Josh Fagen similarly tasked for Point Grey.
Set as director for this new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles outing is Jeff Rowe, who—having only served as co-director (alongside Michael Rianda) on upcoming Sony Pictures animated feature Connected—makes his debut here as the lone credited director for a feature. The 'End of Level' Boss is a time-honored tradition in video gaming history and it's hard to think of a genre that doesn't have a superior foe for you to prove your skill and triumph over. From the earliest days of gaming to the modern era, these figures have evolved and grown with the nature of the immersive narrative, which has been cultivated by some of the best writers in the genre.
This is a look at some of my favorites, bosses who tested my skill, whose look and dialogue crawled under my skin and the most satisfying take downs in my gaming career.

The original Nes Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (...Hero Turtles if you were in the UK) was a frustratingly tough game. I remember distinctively the underwater Dam level and the hellish boss battles which sapped your precious energy. I almost cried losing turtle after turtle, seeing...

Fans are a fickle bunch and while our passion for certain properties is part of what makes the experience great, sometimes we come off as jerks. Between reboots and sequels we’ve seen the nasty side of fandom come out lately, and recently the ire has been stoked by Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Since the first trailer for the new film released, many fans have angrily claimed the film is going to “ruin the Ninja Turtles”...Fellow fans, it’s time to face the facts. Over the two and a half decades of Ninja Turtles being in existence, there have been a few things to come out which have already ruined them.
I love being a fanboy and participating in various discussions about my favorite things with other fans. I don’t have much patience when the conversation starts off (or devolves into) “such and such ruined my childhood” or some similar nonsense.

The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles have always been a staple of late '80s to '90s geek culture. Four turtle brothers are exposed to mutagen and then raised by a Ninja rat to fight crime and eat pizza in only the most radical of ways. It's so easy to forget that at one point they were once five with a girl turtle, who would go down as one of the most controversial characters in Tmnt history.
In The Beginning...
Venus de Milo was introduced in Fall of 1997 in the first episode of the live action NInja Turtles: The Next Mutation. Besides the fact that she was the only female Tmnt, she stuck out as being the only one named after not a famous painter, but rather a work of art. She donned an aqua colored bandanna that extended down the length of her back to somewhat resemble a ponytail,...

Crossing Tmnt with a much-loved board game is a brilliant idea, right? Well, after this, Matt's wife might disagree...
Unpacking the Monopoly box, I started to get a bit excited. Granted, this is Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles Monopoly, a fair reason to be excited, but it was also because it had been so long since I last played the classic board game Monopoly and I couldn’t wait to get a game going. Monopoly is so fun.
Monopoly have been doing ‘themed’ sets for a while. Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is very much the Park Lane of my favourite things, so this was one I was particularly keen to have a look at. It’s based on the current cartoon show from Nickelodeon, which is terrific and comes highly recommended.

Quadrophenia (Criterion) Franc Roddam’s 1979 film based on The Who’s classic rock opera tells the story of working class lad Jimmy (Phil Daniels) struggling to find his identity in a rapidly changing Britain, circa 1965. Jimmy is a “mod,” a youth movement dedicated to wearing snappy suits, driving Vespa motor scooters bedecked with side mirrors, popping amphetamines and obsessed with the new sound of bands like The Who and The Kinks. Their other pastime is engaging in bloody brawls with “rockers,” throwbacks to the 1950s, who listen to Elvis and Gene Vincent, wear leather biker gear, grease in their hair and drive massive motorcycles a la Marlon Brando in “The Wild One.” Often cited as a worthy successor to “Rebel Without a Cause” as the greatest angry youth picture ever made, it is that and more, including a first cousin to the “kitchen sink” dramas of scribes John Osborne,...

Well, that settles that. Producer Michael Bay took to his blog again to address the fans who are criticizing his upcoming Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles reboot. Bay’s decision to alter the Turtles’ origin story had sparked a long string of remarks from fans, Bay and even series co-creator Peter Laird — in his most recent missive, under the headline “Ninja Turtles’ Title,” Bay wrote:
Paramount marketing changed the name. They made the title simple. The characters you all remember are exactly the same, and yes they still act like teenagers. Everything you remember, why you liked the characters, is in the movie.

Transformers must seem like a cakewalk right about now. The saga of Michael Bay’s vilified Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles reboot — which will feature an “alien race” origin story for the heroes — continues to mutate, with two people involved in early iterations of the franchise now lending their support to Bay.
Peter Laird, one of the comic book’s co-creators, posted a statement on his blog addressing the fan uproar about the story change, which was only exacerbated after Michael Bay instructed Turtles fans to “chill” and “relax.” In a post, Laird encouraged fans to “swallow the ‘chill pill’ Mr.
