Ethan Embry has been cast in 'Scream 7'.The 46-year-old actor - known for his roles in 'Can't Hardly Wait', 'That Thing You Do!' and 'Brotherhood' - is set to join the iconic horror franchise, with the likes of Neve Campbell and Courteney Cox already confirmed.According to Deadline, Embry has signed up for the upcoming seventh instalment, although his role and plot details are being kept under wraps.Between 2015 and 2022, he starred as Coyote Bergstein on Netflix series 'Grace and Frankie' while he's appeared on shows like 'The Walking Dead', 'Grey's Anatomy' and 'CSI: Crime Scene Investigation' over the years.On the big screen, his most recent credits include 'First Man' and 'Last Seen Alive', while 'Alma and the Wolf' and an untitled Christy Martin film are both in post production.

Ethan Embry may only be 46 years old, but he has 35 years of acting credits to his name, having worked on more than 100 different projects. And now he’s set to cross paths with Ghostface, as Deadline reports that he has joined the cast of Scream 7!

Spyglass Media and Paramount Pictures once intended to make a Scream 7 that would have starred Scream (2022) and Scream VI leads Melissa Barrera and Jenna Ortega, with Freaky and Happy Death Day director Christopher Landon at the helm. But then Ortega allegedly asked for a substantial pay raise – and as we saw when Neve Campbell dropped out of Scream VI due to a pay dispute, these pay issues don’t tend to work out. Then Barrera was fired from the project after comments she made about the Israel-Hamas war didn’t go over well with executives at Spyglass. Landon dropped out the of the project soon after.

The list of potential Ghostface suspects and victims grows, as Deadline reports that Ethan Embry has joined the cast of Scream 7.

Legacy cast members Neve Campbell, Courteney Cox, Matthew Lillard, Scott Foley, Mason Gooding, and Jasmin Savoy Brown are set to return in the sequel, which is currently in production in Atlanta.

Isabel May plays Sidney’s daughter. Other franchise newcomers include Celeste O’Connor, Mckenna Grace, Sam Rechner, Asa Germann, Anna Camp, Mark Consuelos, and Joel McHale as Sidney’s husband.

Kevin Williamson, writer of the original Scream as well as Scream 2 and Scream 4, is directing the latest installment from a script by Guy Busick, who penned Scream 5 and Scream 6.

Plot details are being kept under wraps, of course, but the latest installment in slasher saga is expected to bring the focus back onto Sidney and her family.

Scream 7 is scheduled to be released on February 27, 2026 by Paramount Pictures.

New Year’s Eve felt a bit different in 1999. Not simply because it was a different time but because of the pesky “year 2000 problem” that’s more commonly referred to as Y2K. The world anticipated global computer system failures that would cause the shutdown of technology everywhere, including power. It created a widespread panic that entailed people prepping for an actual apocalypse. Except, once the clock struck midnight, nothing happened. The computers adjusted just fine, everyone breathed a sigh of relief, and the world moved on in a blink.

Y2K director/co-writer Kyle Mooney and co-writer Evan Winter imagine what could’ve happened had the Y2K bug actually triggered catastrophe, marrying an apocalyptic horror movie with a raucously entertaining teen comedy.

After making his feature writing debut with Brigsby Bear, Kyle Mooney has now made his directorial debut with Y2K, a disaster comedy which brings together Rachel Zegler, Jaeden Martell, and Julian Dennison. Set on the last night of 1999, the SXSW premiere follows two high school juniors who crash a New Years Eve party, only to find themselves fighting for their lives. Netflix has just released the trailer for the new raunchy high school comedy from the Chernin brothers — Dave Chernin and John Chernin — who are veterans of irreverent shows It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia and the tragically cut-short Fox sitcom The Mick. The Chernins reunite with The Mick‘s Kaitlin Olson and Thomas Barbusca in Incoming. The cast includes Mason Thames, Ramon Reed, Raphael Alejandro, Isabella Ferreira, Bardia Seiri, Loren Gray, Ali Gallo, Scott MacArthur, Thomas Barbusca, Kim Hawthorne, Victoria Moroles, Kayvan Shai, with Kaitlin Olson and Bobby Cannavale.

The short but sweet synopsis reads,

The 1998 graduating class of Huntington Hillside High School is finally getting together for their 25th reunion… and it’s a musical!

On Saturday, Can’t Hardly Wait co-writer/director Deborah Kaplan announced a stage musical in the works based on her and Harry Elfont‘s 1998 cult classic teen movie, which starred Jennifer Love Hewitt, Ethan Embry, Lauren Ambrose, Peter Facinelli, Seth Green and Charlie Korsmo.

She shared the title art and tagged the official Instagram profile for Can’t Hardly Wait: The Musical, writing in the caption, “And that’s all I’m able to say @canthardlywaitthemusical #comingsoon.”

Kaplan tells Deadline that she and Elfont are “mostly benevolent godparents watching from the sidelines” on the upcoming musical.

Jennifer Love Hewitt loves the holiday season, and she's had tremendous success in her collaborations with Lifetime.

So who better to direct, produce, and star in a Christmas flick for the network's 2024 It’s a Wonderful Lifetime movie slate?

Deadline reported today that Hewitt will be pulling triple duty on a Yuletide flick with the working title of The Holiday Junkie.

The project is a personal one for Hewitt, as it's inspired in part by her love of the holiday season, as well as the loss of her mother, who passed away in 2012.

Additionally, Hewitt's husband, Brian Hallisay, will be co-starring, and the couple's children will also appear in the film.

“To be able to direct and be in this movie with my husband is such a special opportunity. And to be back home with Lifetime feels as right as Christmas magic!” Hewitt said, in a statement issued to Deadline.

It’s graduation night, and for the students at Huntington Hills High School, there’s one last hurrah before going off to college. The 1998 comedy Can’t Hardly Wait carried on the tradition of John Hughes 80s classics with ageless themes of longing, alienation, optimism and fear amongst teenage angst as they all come crashing together at a house party. Finding fame at such a young age came with its difficulties, and she opened up about her feelings during that time while speaking on ‘Inside of You’ podcast, reports deadline.com.

“I felt watched. I felt like I had to be everything for everybody all the time,” Hewitt said.

“I was called sexy before I ever knew what being sexy was. I was 17-years-old on the cover of Maxim, and I had no idea why.”

Hewitt also noted that she finds it “weird” when people want her to continue being the girl that she was back then, adding: “That girl was so insecure and so confused.

Clocking in at 65 tracks, Tim: Let It Bleed Edition begins with a long-awaited fresh mix of the original album. Sarah Michelle Gellar reveals Selma Blair's mother's reaction to their notorious on-screen kiss in Cruel Intentions. Gellar and Blair starred in 1999's Cruel Intentions alongside Ryan Phillippe, Reese Witherspoon, and Joshua Jackson. When "Yellowjackets" debuted on Showtime at the end of 2021, it didn't take long for the world to get addictively stung by the multi-timeline cannibal thriller. The series tells the story of the 1996 state champion women's soccer team from Wiskayok High School after their plane crashes in the Canadian wilderness on the way to their national tournament, stranding the teens to fend for themselves for 19 months. The show simultaneously explores the lives of some of the survivors of the crash 25 years later, as they struggle to adjust to a normal existence after the world assumes they had resorted to cannibalism for survival all those years before. A new set of first-look images from Yellowjackets season 2 reveals the adult Van. The series, which premiered on Showtime last year, takes place in two different timelines following a group of teenagers attempting to survive the Canadian winter after crash landing in the wilderness in 1996. The show splits its time between this timeline and that of the present where it explores the lives of the surviving members of the eponymous soccer team. The fate of Liv Hewson's teen character Van (who is the love interest of Jasmine Savoy Brown's Taissa) wasn't revealed in season 1, but Yellowjackets season 2 - which begins airing in March 2023 - will introduce adult Van along with bumping up Hewson to a series regular for the teen storyline.

It’s almost the end of another year…another grueling, relentless, shuffle around the pitiless sun. But before that: more content! HBO Max’s list of new releases for December 2022 is filled with a handful of exciting original TV series.

December 2022 truly is TV’s time to shine on HBO Max. Things get started on day one with the release of Gossip Girl season 2 (Dec. 1). That will be followed by His Dark Materials on Dec. 5. Adapting The Amber Spyglass, this season promises to be the most action-packed yet for the BBC/HBO fantasy collaboration. December 8 sees the arrival of Doom Patrol season 4. This DC comic property doesn’t have the cultural cache of some of its CW contemporaries but when it’s rolling, it might be one of the best comic series around.

Now that Warner has mostly scuttled its simultaneous streaming/theatrical release strategy, there aren’t many big original movies to speak of.
