- TriviaBoth the Romy and Michele characters were originated in the stage play "Ladies Room." Lisa Kudrow reprises the role she played in it.
- GoofsWhen Toby asks Heather and Sandy if they want to name all 50 state capitals at the prom, Sandy incorrectly says "Albuquerque". Albuquerque is not the capital city of New Mexico, Santa Fe is.
- Quotes
Christie: So, Mi-chelle! What are you up to?
Michele: Oh, okay. Um, I invented Post-Its.
Christie: No offense, Michele, but how in the world did *you* think of Post-Its?
Michele: Uh...
[looks across the room at Romy talking to Billy Christianson]
Romy: And I thought of them completely by myself. I mean, all Michele did was say: "What about making them yellow?"
Michele: [turns to the A Group] Actually I invented a special kind of glue.
Christie: Oh really? Well then I'm sure you wouldn't mind giving us a detailed account of exactly how you concocted this miracle glue, would you?
Michele: No. Um, well, ordinarily when you make glue first you need to thermoset your resin and then after it cools you have to mix in an epoxide, which is really just a fancy-schmancy name for any simple oxygenated adhesive, right? And then I thought maybe, just maybe, you could raise the viscosity by adding a complex glucose derivative during the emulsification process and it turns out I was right.
- Alternate versionsUK cinema version (rated 12) removes all profanity and inserts inoffensive replacements, along with removing some sexual references:
- [Reel 1] Heather telling Toby to "fuck off" is replaced with "bug off".
- [Reel 2] Same as the first cut (when Toby interrupts Heather and Sandy at the prom).
- Heather asking Clarence "Why don't you go fuck a sheep..." is replaced with "wed a sheep".
- [Reel 3] When Ramon asks Romy for a favour at the car dealership, the second half of their fake sex dialogue is cut. "Man stallion, fill me with your giant love wand" up to and including "Oh Ramon, your penis is so powerful, I'm coming" is removed.
- [Reel 4] Heather telling Toby to "fuck off" after being asked for a name tag is removed.
- Heather's line "I already asked Toby dumb-fuck" is replaced with "dumb-butt".
- [Reel 5] Romy's line "Now we're just a fucking joke" is replaced with "stupid joke" (this cut persists in the American video version).
- Romy telling Christy "We don't give a flying fuck what you think" is replaced with "flying frog".
- Toby telling Heather "And please don't tell me to fuck off" is replaced with "bug off".
- Heather telling Clarence "If you fuck with me, in any way..." is replaced with "mess with me".

Romy and Michele's High School Reunion is a great little comedy of nostalgia; looking back upon school years, the fashion, the music and how people were back then; seeing that they've changed or just stayed completely the same.
Overall this doesn't say much; there is that moral that friendship is the most important and to stand by your friends in any situation. There is that idea also that when people look back upon school years people realise if they were liked or not; Christy and the A group finding they were the most hated and despised and that the 'freaks' of school go on to be the most successful.
Mira Sorvino and Lisa Kudrow fit their characters perfectly; giving so much energy and naivety to them. Janeane Garofalo was great as the surly, fowl mouthed Heather Mooney and Alan Cumming as the nerdy Sandy Frink is also great.
It isn't the best comedy, but its still a great watch. Makes you look upon your own school years.
