Quite good, good acting, not unrealistic, and not a lot of useless scenes. I enjoyed it very much. This is a TV movie and is literally better than 90% of the movies I've seen that had absurd budgets.
Ari Meyers is also stunning.
Ari Meyers is also stunning.
Nicole Voss (Ari Meyers) is the head cheerleader, and Greg Dunleavy (Mark Kassen) is the captain of the football team. Together they form a perfect couple except he cheats on her with Emily DeCapprio (Soleil Moon Frye). She gets pregnant and makes demands on Greg. Greg turns and kills her. Meanwhile Nicole befriends missing Emily's mother Tina (Tess Harper) without knowing their other connection.
This would make a fairly good after school special or Lifetime movie. It has good elements in this. The young couple are nice white bread teenagers. Punky Brewster doesn't have that much screen time. Tess Harper is absolutely solid as the grieving mother.
There are problems with the last 15 minutes. The cop was too dismissive, and how hard is it for her to yell out that she found the button? Instead she steals a file from the cops. It would have been better if Greg just go nuts after the party. The final ending is just a big letdown.

I had never heard of this movie until I stumbled upon it on another site! I found out that the girl we all come to know as "punky Brewster" was in it! I found out it was on a women's channel. Anyways, I watched it and I actually enjoyed it. It was considered a drama which usually aren't too bad. Her character gets "wiped out" in the early part of the movie and we're left trying to figure out who did it. She came from a poor family and gets involved with a rich kid who graduates and is planning on going to school with the head cheerleader in the fall. She finds out that he was behind it and nearly loses her life. She becomes a good friend of Emily's mom after she dies. I would definitely recommend this movie to anyone who likes a good "cheap" drama and who wants to see "punky Brewster" all grown up! Even though this movie is now 8 years old!
Soleil Moon Frye is a pregnant teenager, who has a cheating boyfriend and she is a girl from a poorer part of town and her boyfriend, Mark, is cheating on her with a more wealthier girl,Nicole. When Greg finds out that Soleil is pregnant, he murders her and hides her body. Then at a graduation party, Nicole finds Soleil's body on the beach and then she starts to become friends with Soleil's mom. Things start to link up that Greg was the one that killed her and it has a happy ending. I would definitely recommend watching this movie the next time it is on TV. Soleil Moon Frye is excellent.
I enjoyed the movie even though I found it fairly predictable. The ineffectiveness of the police force seemed a little hard to believe. Ari is excellent in her role as the concerned "rich girl" with the handsome, jock boyfriend. The rest of the cast, especially Tess Harper who plays Soleil Moon Frye's grief-stricken but feisty mother are totally believable. I do find it hard to believe that Ari who was born in 1969 could still be playing a high school senior in 1997 (although she certainly looks the part). Was this movie made years earlier perhaps and held back from the public for some reason? Anyone know the answer?

This is a fantastic little TVM that I just saw for the first time the other day. It's well acted by a cast of virtual unknowns, apart of course from Tess Harper & Soleil "Punky Brewster" Moon Frye. Ari Meyers is great as the rich girl with a conscience and is very convincing in her role as she builds a friendship with the mother of the missing & subsequently deceased Emily (Soleil). It has you on the edge of your seat right til the very end. You really don't know which way it's going to go. It is inspired by a true story which makes it all the more sad and interesting. If you like true stories that make you think, get you frustrated and make you want to cheer for the goodies & boo the baddies then this is for you!
Dated but watchable. A boy murdered his pregnant gf. He's also got an upper class girl. Coincidentally the latter befriends the Mother of the dead girl. The casting isn't great. The guy looks wrong side of the tracks instead of the wealthy guy he's supposed to be. The way he gets caught seems unrealistic.

This is a very entertaining film concerning seniors graduating from high school and then planning to go on to college. The film takes place in a small town where everybody knows everybody and any gossip is spread around immediately. Soleil Moon Frye, (Emily DeCapprio) plays a young girl who falls in love with Greg Dunleavy,(Mark Kassen) and wants him to marry her before he goes to college and Greg at the same time is going out with Nicole Kass,(Ari Meyers) and having a ball playing the field with these two girls. Tess Harper,(Tina DeCapprio) gave an outstanding performance as the mother to Emily and was very close to her daughter and were considered rather poor compared to some of the other gals and guys she associated with in cheer-leading or sports. This film does have a rather sad ending and is nothing that I had intended to expect.
