Many of the featured extras that played Bakersfield cops were actual officers from local stations. In a few of the scenes the director told them "just do it as you would in real life."
Portions of this movie were filmed at the Kern County Courthouse in Bakersfield, California. Since the film was depicting Los Angeles Police officers, "Los Angeles Police Department" was printed on one of the office doors and remained there for several weeks after the film was completed. Members of the public were very confused.
Featured extras Andy Huffman and Robert Obergfell were full-time, sworn police officers for the City of Ridgecrest (California) at the time they appeared in this movie.
