Herman Rush, a prominent television pioneer and former president of Columbia Pictures Television, died of natural causes in Los Angeles on Dec. 12. He was 94.
Rush got his start in the television industry in 1951 as a salesman at Official Films. In 1957, he acquired television syndication firm Flamingo Films, which he turned into a major independent syndication company. Rush also had an extensive career as head of the talent division at the agency Creative Management Associates, where he worked from 1960-1971.
In the late 1960s, Rush acquired the popular British sitcom “Till Death To Us Part” from Lord Lew Grade. He sold the intellectual property to the late television titan Norman Lear, who turned that show into “All in the Family.” The hit sitcom starring Caroll O’Connor ran for nine seasons on CBS. Rush also imported, repackaged and produced multiple BBC comedy television series including “For the Love of Ada” and “Love Thy Neighbor.

Celebrity psychic Sylvia Browne is doing damage control over a prediction made nearly 10 years ago claiming Ohio kidnapping victim Amanda Berry was dead, but her actions may represent a watershed moment in how Americans view psychics.
"The [Ariel Castro abduction] is a test case for all psychics," said Joe Nickell, editor of Skeptical Inquirer, a magazine that encourages science-based analysis of paranormal and fringe-science claims. "Why didn't one psychic wake up in the middle of the night and know where they were?"
Browne told Louwana Miller, the mother of Amanda Berry, on "The Montel Williams Show" in 2004: "She’s not alive, honey. Your daughter’s not the kind who wouldn’t call," The Atlantic Wire reported. Berry was kidnapped 10 years ago and was found alive on Monday.
Browne responded with an official statement to The Huffington Post earlier this week that included this line: "Only God is right all the time."

HollywoodNews.com: ‘Real Housewives of DC’ stars and alleged White House party crashers Tareq and Michaele Salahi just can’t win as they are reportedly now in a fight with Montel Williams.
Montel is reportedly ready to take legal action against them as he claims they are falsely using his name to promote an event at their winery, states TMZ. Event organizers have reportedly commented that Montel’s Ms Foundation is part of the event.
And while a cease and desist letter did reportedly get his name and foundation’s name off the site in question, the Salahis are allegedly claiming they are not the ones responsible for this.
The two reportedly claim that the winery is just the venue and “DC’s Most Fabulous Magazine” actually organized the event, continues TMZ.
The site that Montel was reportedly talking about is allegedly not one that belongs to the Salahis or the winery.

Considering he’s an open supporter (and user) of medical marijuana, we’re not shocked to learn that Montel Williams was found with a marijuana pipe at a Milwaukee airport yesterday. Frankly, if we had to go to Milwaukee, we’d want to be ripped too. What’s cheesing us off is how the cops found his pipe: he set off a metal detector in the security line. Dude! Do not put a metal pipe in your carry-on luggage! Your fellow fliers don’t need has-been talk show hosts stalling the line and wasting the precious time they’d otherwise spend in a Cinnabon. Since the pipe was residue free (lame), Montel was let go with a $484 citation. But considering the guy’s pipe held up another line at Detroit Metro a few years back, we’re strongly pushing for a three strikes rule. Check your s— or go Bolt Bus,...
