A silent film, with music and sound effects added in post-production. China's first sound film was 'Genu hongmudan (1930)'.
Th steam roller which features in the final scenes was made by J Kemna of Breslau, then part of Germany. Unfortunately its number is not distinct enough to read. The biplane fighter which attacks the road builders is also too indistinct to identify.
