In 1953, Koundouros, released from prison island Makronisos, visited the refugee camp Drogouti, where he was inspired to shoot this film. Part of the crew and the cast were his co-prisoners, like Thanasis Vengos and Manos Katrakis.
The movie was screened during 1954-1955 and sold 67,770 tickets. It came 4th out of 14 movies.
