There's an argument to make about whether or not you should judge adult entertainment with low expectations, giving a pass to flaws because oh that's just porn, nobody cares, it's just filler until we get to the good stuff. With that said, I don't know strongly you could disagree with the idea that most bi porn, especially before the last few years where someone decided to make more effort in the genre, is not very good on any level, whether it be acting, writing, or even male performers being able to get or keep it up.
Initially, A Family Affair seems to fall into some of the same traps (aside from wood problems - the men in this movie definitely don't have that to worry about), as an overlong fantasy sequence between Axel Garrett and Porsche Lynn turns to a breakup that is excruciatingly acted by Garrett and the uncredited lady playing his wife. These scenes also give a sign of the bad audio which will plague the movie (with the Garrett/Lynn scene having the bonus of loud background muzak drowning out the dialogue)
Once the story moves to Garrett living with his siblings (Flame and Chad Knight), the quality of the film improves markedly. Time is taken to actually show the hesitation and guilt Garrett feels in realizing his attraction toward Flame (the star attraction indeed - she reminds me of Miranda Richardson here, accent aside). Wisely, minimal dialogue is used here, relying on a natural chemistry between the actors, and moments like eavesdropping or looking through a photo album. While Knight, as the other brother, is mostly just a hardon, the escalation in his own relationship with Garrett is also allowed to develop. The tension in all these situations tend to be more compelling than the inevitable overextended sex scenes, although those aren't bad either.
When you add in three 'normal'-looking people (by porn standards), avoiding roided out men or surgery-botched women, you have a surprisingly watchable bi entertainment.
