However, Hauser has been working in Hollywood for a long time, having breakthrough roles in ensemble movies like School Ties and Dazed and Confused during the 1990s. Fortunately, both Deadline’s Awards Columnist and Chief Film Critic, Pete Hammond, and Film Awards Editor Damon Wise keep on hand an ever-evolving dossier of ones to watch. The Vampire Diaries discussions often revolve around the merits of each pairing. Stefan Salvatore and Caroline Forbes Steroline of The Vampire Diaries cast have garnered significant attention and debate among fans. But one endeavor that often gets overlooked, presumably because of the reception it received pre- and post-release, was Zhang Yimou’s The Great Wall. Looking back on the project, the Oppenheimer alum acknowledged discerning early on that the movie may be a disaster. And disaster it was—if you consider its box office performance and critics’ evaluations, at least.

Exclusive: Oscar-winning filmmaker Tom McCarthy’s production company Slow Pony has inked an exclusive first-look film deal with Concordia Studio, the talent-first studio whose most recent production, Still: A Michael J. Lethal Weapon is going to be a lot of fun tonight as the show brings a favorite character from the films to the small screen.

Yep. It's time for Riggs and Murtaugh to meet Leo Getz.

Thomas Lennon of The Odd Couple and Reno 911 fame takes on the role that was popularized by Joe Pesci in the films.

But don't expect to see a copycat. Lennon will be bringing a fresh take Getz, and if you've seen any of his previous work, you know it's going to be hilarious.

We had a chance to chat with Lennon about Leo Getz, how he prepared for the role and what it was like working on Lethal Weapon.

TV Fanatic: You're playing one of the most memorable characters in the Lethal Weapon film franchise, how excited were you to take on the character of Leo Getz and how did it all come about?...

Move over Mel Gibson, there’s a new Riggs in town.

Fox’s upcoming Lethal Weapon series, based on the ’80s movie franchise of the same name, stars Clayne Crawford (Rectify) as Martin Riggs and Damon Wayans (My Wife and Kids) as Roger Murtaugh. The drama, which follows an unconventional cop with a death wish (Riggs) after he is partnered with a high-strung, traditional detective and family man (Murtaugh), is set to premiere Wednesday, Sept. 21, at 8/7c.

Things are poised to get lethal on Fox. The network has ordered its Lethal Weapon TV remake to pilot with Damon Wayans as your new Roger Murtaugh. Danny Glover played the part in the original movies. The pilot, a one-hour drama, hails from executive producers Matt Miller, Dan Lin, Jennifer Gwartz and McG. McG will direct a script from Miller. Mel Gibson's role in the film, Martin Riggs, has yet to be cast for the series. Wayans' other TV credits include My Wife and Kids, In Living Color and Damon.

A couple of weeks ago, I noted that New Girl had evolved into such an ensemble comedy that it would be just fine during Zooey Deschanel's six-episode maternity leave. So far, we've had two episodes — both of them, like the last few with Deschanel, filmed immediately after production on last season wrapped, so the show could get them done before they lost the star for a while — just featuring the remaining castmembers (plus guests like Fred Armisen, Bill Burr, and Lennon Parham), but the remainder of Deschanel's absence will revolve around the introduction of a temporary addition to the loft: Reagan, a pharmaceutical sales rep played by Megan Fox. Damon Wayans is postponing multiple tour stops after suffering a medical emergency related to his diabetes ... TMZ has learned. Damon Wayans Jr is sadly leaving behind the days of New Girl. He will not return for a possible fifth season, but will currently wrap up the 4th one. He has had an off and on role as Coach, until last season when he became a regular guest star. This has been the first full season where he was a regular cast member, but was only signed on for 1 season. Here is what the funny man, Damon had to say.

People don’t normally associate the name Nina Dobrev with comedy. The breakout starlet of the hit CW series The Vampire Diaries is more firmly rooted in drama, but she seems eager to spread her talents around.
