Frank Miller is shopping Sin City to TV networks. They're lining up for it, apparently...
Frank Miller and Robert Rodriguez turned Miller’s graphic novel Sin City into stylish noir for the silver screen over a decade ago, but would a television series be A Show To Kill For?
Networks hungry for old IP seem to think so. Deadline reports that suitors are lining up for a Sin City television adaptation, one that would introduce new characters in that universe.
No network is officially on board yet, but it can only be a matter of time. It's easy to imagine this being a big blockbuster of a show.
The project has picked up steam now that it has Bob and Harvey Weinstein, Len Wiseman (Total Recall), and The Walking Dead's Glen Mazzara behind it.
Mazzura, whose credits also include The Shield and The Omen, is set to write.

The landscape of cinema today is a vastly different and distinctly less-original one than previous decades. Itʼs hard to put your finger on exactly when the tide began to turn, but it’s safe to admit we live in an age of sequel-mania.
Currently there are a staggering 142 sequels either in-production or development across numerous studios. Some are justified and worthy of warranting second instalments, whilst others will strike you as desperate attempts at squeezing out that last remaining trickle of money from a dying franchise.
Here is a selection of the most sh*tty and unnecessary sequels (possibly given the the protracted production of some) heading our way in the next few years.
10. Sin City 3 Dimension Films
Although nothing is set in stone, reports suggest Robert Rodriguez and Frank Miller may team-up once again for a third Sin City movie.
The original was innovative and a blood-splattered shot of adrenaline.

From Zoolander 2 to 23 Jump Street, with 100s in-between. Here's our rundown of the assorted movie sequels in the works...
Think Hollywood is bereft of original ideas? You just might after this. Here's our look at the assorted movie sequels currently in the works. Since we last did a list like this, we've dropped films that seem to have died a death - Wanted 2, Spring Breakers 2 - but we'll keep this rundown up to date over the coming month.
Without further ado...
23 Jump Street
Sony is pressing ahead with a third Jump Street movie, as well as a possible Jump Street vs Men In Black film, and a female-headlined spin-off. For 23 Jump Street specifically, Rodney Rothman is back and working on the script (he wrote the second one). It's unclear yet if Chris Miller and Phil Lord can find breathing space in their schedule to direct. Channing Tatum and Jonah Hill are both expected back,...

This new Rosario Dawson report sounds less like real life and more like a family film where's she's the leading lady.
Page Six reports that the 35-year-old star adopted a 12-year-old girl in October.
News: My Five Wives -- Adoption Talk Rattles the Family
Dawson was adopted by her stepfather at age 1, and opened up about her relationship with her father to You magazine in 2007. "He's always been my dad," she said. "He loved my mom and he loved me. That was really amazing. He was strong for a young man of just 21."
Prior to this report, the Top Five actress has mentioned her plans to have kids.
"I always wanted to adopt kids because my dad adopted me. That idea has stayed in the back of my head, but lately, I've been thinking about it more." she told Latina magazine in 2008. "My mother and grandmother are extraordinary women, and they're getting older. It struck...

Speaking with AlternativeNation.net, the legendary actor and voice actor Stacy Keach spoke about his role as Wallenquist in the newly released Sin City sequel, A Dame To Kill For. Acknowledging the movie's box office failure, Keach admits, "The movie’s not doing great, I think the reason the critics are saying is that they waited too long. Waited too long between the original and sequel. Its not doing business. I have a feeling that its longevity down the road will show, and it will be redeemed." When asked by the interviewer about the longevity and box office value of comic book movies in general, the actor stressed that as long as the vision and right writers are available, any medium is here to stay. "No, I don’t think its gonna fizzle out! Animation and graphic storytelling are here to stay. Its part of the form of language of film,...

Did Sin City: A Dame To Kill For rely too much on Mickey Rourke's character, Marv? Robert offers his spoiler-filled view...
Nb: This article contains spoilers for Sin City and Sin City: A Dame To Kill For
Many film sequels latch onto one character who captures audiences’ imaginations, then mould subsequent stories around that character. There’s no doubt that the Pirates Of The Caribbean series existed because of Captain Jack Sparrow’s popularity, and audience’s desires to see more of the kooky rogue. Gollum’s popularity following The Two Towers surely had an effect in the editing room on Return Of The King, where he cemented himself as one of the most quotable and imitable characters of the decade.
When this happens, producers respond, and the character often becomes elevated to a mascot - or even a reason to make subsequent films. They can occasionally end up hogging the posters,...

Quite whether you were ever as excited by the much-delayed arrival of Sin City: A Dame To Kill For is probably a matter for debate, but Robert Rodriguez’s hyper-stylised, seriously cool sequel/prequel has more than enough to reward fans who are still ardently attracted to the franchise. Though the aesthetic shtick could have worn a little thin, the embracing of 3D technology and some deliriously bold creative choices more than make up for the fact that at times the film misses its beats completely, including fudging some of the best elements of its predecessor.
It’s a little too silly, and a little too blatant to ever really be considered in the same terms as that movie – which was arguably one of the most impressive, most important moments in the comic book movie genre – but there is a lot to admire about the noir-soaked exercise in artistry.

This past week saw the release of A Dame To Kill For, the second Sin City film, and by all accounts it was…weird. Which is befitting of its source material, a series of comic books that saw veteran writer and artist Frank Miller throw hardboiled detective stories, noir films and pulp fiction (not Pulp Fiction, crucially) in a blender along with his bombastic superhero work. At the other end spat out a highly stylised, ultra violent and sexually explicit throwback to “the good old days” of genre stories; Sin City was a playground for Miller to indulge in his love of gritty crime mysteries, with crooked cops, femme fatales and all. Also there are dinosaurs sometimes, because of course there is.
Over the years Miller has weaved together a whole weird world of his own, the fictional Basin City having its own distinct geography, demographics and...

Sin City: A Dame To Kill For, from co-directors Robert Rodriguez and Frank Miller, once again brings Miller’s graphic novels to the big screen.
A sequel to the visually stunning Sin City 2005, A Dame to Kill For blends two of Miller’s comic book stories with a pair of new tangential storylines. Once again, crime and violence anchor the plot for the movie’s cast of characters, which includes stripper Nancy (Jessica Alba) cop Hartigan (Bruce Willis), poker player Joseph Gordon-Levitt and the monstrous Marv (Mickey Rourke). Josh Brolin, Rosario Dawson, Eva Green and Powers Boothe also star.

Warning: Sin City: A Dame To Kill For is Very violent and has no reservations having Eva Green entirely naked for the vast majority of her screen time. The film is rated R for very good reason. If that doesn’t scare you away, read on! I’m going to be honest, I wasn’t sure what to expect from Frank Miller’s Sin City: A Dame To Kill For. The original film opened in April 2005 and it’s been a Very long time since I’ve seen it and it’s really not my type of film, other than the fact that it’s based upon comic books / graphic novels. I happened to be in Hollywood for a prior commitment, so the press screening for A Dame To Kill For sort of fell into my lap, and after it’s all said and done, I’m glad that it did.

Robert Rodriguez and Frank Miller being Sin City back to the screen in A Dame To Kill For. Here's Duncan's review...
One of the many pitfalls of being an enthusiastic movie geek is having to wait vast amounts of time for a sequel. Already this year we've had comic book movies such as The Amazing Spider-Man 2 and Captain America: The Winter Soldier leaving us hanging on for more, as they both ended (as is the Marvel way) with a set up for the next instalment. Waiting can be a strangely exhausting game. And now that Sin City: A Dame to Kill For has finally been unleashed after so many false starts and promised release dates that failed to materialise, it's hard to believe it's actually here, nine years after the first film.

“Sin City: A Dame to Kill For” has been in the making since the success of the original “Sin City” movie in 2005. The sequel has Robert Rodriguez and Frank Miller directing the film adaptation with an upcoming release this August. I was a big fan of the first movie as an exercise in comic book filmmaking, its sequel should be a welcomed follow up. Sin City 2: A Dame To Kill For will play with a trailer for Quentin Tarantino's The Hateful Eight alongside it, it seems...
Quentin Tarantino hasn't begun shooting his upcoming western, The Hateful Eight, at this point. However, it sounds as if he's going to do his friend, Robert Rodriguez, a sizeable favour.
Rodriguez's next film, Sin City 2: A Dame To Kill For, arrives in cinemas the week after next. And the Alberta Ratings Board has classified a trailer for The Hateful Eight to play alongside it, that runs to one minute and 40 seconds. The contents of that trailer are a mystery, and there are no plans to release the trailer online. We've no idea if it'll make it to UK showings of Sin City 2 either.
We can't imagine there's footage in the promo, but if you needed any further proof that the film was happening,...

When Quentin Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez get together, mischief always ensues. I’ve confirmed that although Tarantino hasn’t started shooting the ensemble Western The Hateful Eight, he has managed to shoot a teaser trailer that will precede his pal Rodriguez’s Sin City: A Dame To Kill For. Tarantino confirmed during an appearance at San Diego Comic-Con that he would go ahead with his Western, which he revealed to Deadline in January he would scrap because the agents of one of a handful of actors he gave the script to had leaked it. It created a drama that included a lawsuit, a killer live reading staged for charity, and then finally a deal with The Weinstein Company to giddyap in early 2015 start for the movie that will star Samuel L. Jackson, Michael Madsen, Bruce Dern, Kurt Russell and others.

Joseph Gordon-Levitt has said that he would "absolutely call [himself] a feminist".
The Sin City 2: A Dame To Kill For actor told The Daily Beast that women through history have unfairly been an "oppressed category of people".
When asked about young stars who don't want to be labelled as feminists, the actor replied: "Coming out against the label? Wow. I guess I'm not aware of that.
"What that means to me is that you don't let your gender define who you are - you can be who you want to be, whether you're a man, a woman, a boy, a girl, whatever.
"However you want to define yourself, you can do that and should be able to do that, and no category ever really describes a person because every person is unique."
He continued to say: "That, to me, is what 'feminism' means. So yes, I'd absolutely call myself a feminist.

With 9 year in between movies, maybe Rodriquez and Miller will give audiences something worth waiting for. The sequel film has the same “vignette” structure as the first movie. “A Dame to Kill For” Dwight McCarthy (Josh Brolin) is summoned by his former lover, Ava [ Read More ]

The crime and grime came to San Diego Comic-Con’s Hall H this weekend, as Robert Rodriguez, Frank Miller and a selection of their cast brought footage from Sin City: A Dame To Kill for to show to those in attendance. Now the new trailer for the film, full of the monochrome style and splashes of colour you’ve come to expect, has hit the web. You’d best be warned, though – this sucker is Red Band, so no punches are pulled.A Dame To Kill For spins several tales, including The Long Bad Night, in which Johnny (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) loses more than he gambles for against the wrong opponent. Just Another Saturday Night and the titular A Dame To Kill For, both set before the original film’s tale find Marv (Mickey Rourke) pitted against femme fatale Ava Lord (Eva Green) and teamed up with private eye Dwight McCarthy (Clive Owen and Josh Brolin.

As posters go, it’s pretty standard. Cut and paste the main cast into either side of a sexy lady, saturate and desaturate and upload to the webnets. And here it is. The latest poster for Sin City A Dame To Kill for. It’s nothing spectacular but serves to remind us of the exquisite style the original had with it’s wonderful selection of characters based on Frank Miller’s phenomenal work. Forgive them, Father, for they have sinned… Nearly a decade after exploring the morally gray areas of the black-and-white metropolis of Sin City, Robert Rodriguez has returned with the sequel, A Dame To Kill For (out Aug. 22.) This time, he has dragged Joseph Gordon-Levitt into the depths with him. “It’s sort of a story about the worst in us as humans,” the actor says with a nervous laugh. In the video below, the pair sat down with Entertainment Weekly to discuss their tale of good guys gone bad.

Because of the upcoming onslaught of superhero movies promising to dominate cinemas for the next few months, it’s easy to forget about one comic book film in particular: Sin City: A Dame To Kill For. Robert Rodriguez’s sequel to the 2005, pulpy noir-injected Sin City looks like it will have all of the elements for a bloody good time at the movies. However, one has to wonder how excited audiences are to see it, considering the first film came out nearly a decade ago.
For those who are ready to revisit the bloody, grim, and highly stylized titular city of corruption and hard-boiled action, you’re in luck. A Dame To Kill For not only looks and sounds like the original, but Rodriguez has gathered quite the cast this time around. Josh Brolin, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Ray Liotta, Stacy Keach, Lady Gaga and Eva Green join original cast members Jessica Alba,...

“It’s one of those hot nights, dry and windless. The kind that makes people do sweaty, secret things.” So begins the next installment of Frank Miller’s grim, suburban tale of corruption and seedy dealings. Neo-noir fans: prepare your slick, floor-length jackets and cynical monologues, because today sees the release of a new trailer for Sin City: A Dame To Kill For.
Starring Josh Brolin, Jessica Alba, Bruce Willis, Mickey Rourke, Eva Green and Joseph Gordon-Levitt, among many others, the film will follow the titular city’s “most hard-boiled citizens” as they cross paths with some of the “more reviled inhabitants.” Basically, expect more crime, violence and blood, with some stylish imagery to back it all up. I think it’s safe to say that if you were a fan of the original film, then A Dame To Kill For will be right up your alley.

The first images of Eva Green in Sin City: A Dame To Kill For have been released, along with a full-length trailer for the highly anticipated sequel to Sin City (2005).
Sin City: A Dame To Kill For is, like it’s predecessor, based on graphic novels by co-director Frank Miller, who helms the films alongside Robert Rodriguez. Violent, racy and extremely stylized, Sin City became a cult hit when it was released in 2005, and the neo-noir tone and aesthetic found in the original film continue in the sequel.

The film follows Nancy Callahan (Jessica Alba) as she deals with the aftermath of Jon Hartigan’s (Bruce Willis) death from the first film. Alba isn’t the only actor from the original reprising her role.

Sin City: A Dame To Kill For has been a long time coming. Graphic novel author Frank Miller began working on the script just a year after Sin City hit the big screen in 2005. He talked about it at every opportunity, too – most notably in 2007, 2011, and again in the summer of 2012. Cameras finally began to roll in October of 2012 and now, seventeen months later, we have a real trailer.
The script – written by co-directors Frank Miller and Robert Rodriguez, with screenwriter William Monahan – is based on Miller’s ‘A Dame To Kill’ and ‘Just Another Saturday Night’, with two original Miller stories added in exclusively for the film. Several cast members are returning – including Jessica Alba, Mickey Rourke, Bruce Willis, Rosario Dawson, Jaime King and Powers Boothe – while some new characters have been added to the mix as well. Yep, "Frank Miller's Sin City: A Dame To Kill For" is the absurd mouthful that is the new title for "Sin City: Dame To Kill For," reminding you just who exactly penned the pulpy tales that will continue in Robert Rodriguez's sequel. Originally slated to drop last year, the ever-busy director pushed things back to give himself more breathing room to get it done, but with the movie coming this summer we're about to see a lot more. So from the pages of EW comes the first looks at Nancy (Jessica Alba), Marv (Mickey Rourke) and Johnny (Joseph Gordon-Levitt) in the film. They show that yes, this will still be sex and violence fuelled fare, which is exactly what it's supposed to be. And while some of the film is based on Miller's work, it will also include some new stories too, with Nancy going from pole dancer to ass kicker.

Robert Rodriguez and Frank Miller impressed audiences and critics alike in 2005 with Sin City, an adaptation of Miller’s famous graphic novels of the same name. Based on three of the seven books in the series (The Hard Goodbye, The Big Fat Kill and The Yellow Bastard), the movie struck a chord for its faithful devotion to the original work and its unique color palette.
A sequel was discussed early on but didn’t get the official greenlight until 2012. Titled Sin City: A Dame To Kill For, the film will hit theatres on August 22nd, a whopping eight years after the original’s release. Though we’re still quite aways away from seeing the next instalment in this franchise, according to Rodriguez, Miller is already looking ahead to Sin City 3.
“Yeah—the second Sin City– I was just here with Frank Miller last night and we were watching it last night.

Sin City, The Mist and Scream are all heading to the small screen, courtesy of The Weinstein Company...
Robert Rodriguez is hard at work on the eagerly-awaited second Sin City movie, Sin City: A Dame To Kill For. The film was originally due in cinemas this year, but has been put back to a release in August 2014 instead. That means it'll follow the first film by nine years, but you won't have to wait too long after that for further on-screen Sin City adventures, it seems.
That's because The Weinstein Company is reportedly mulling over a Sin City television spin-off, which would follow the cinematic release of A Dame To Kill For. Both Frank Miller and Robert Rodriguez are involved in the television production.
The Weinstein Company also has the television take on Scream on its slate, A pilot for that is underway for MTV.

I know there’s a release date and we’ll supposedly see the sequel to Robert Rodriguez and Frank Miller’s Sin City in August of 2014, but I’ve been following this project since the last Sin City ended up making both Rodriguez and Miller more vital – somehow – and I’m not going to believe this movie exists until I’m watching it. Especially since I was told I’d be seeing it October 2013 before it got pushed back.
That being said, new poster art for the film suggests that Dimension Films wasn’t so much into Killing for Dames as they are into Dying for Dames. Yes, the title “A Dame To Kill For” has been given a switcheroo to make it: “A Dame To Die For.”
There’s even a teaser poster out there if you can believe it. Click on the image below to see the whole...

Robert Rodriguez's Sin City 2 was A Dame To Kill For. Now it's A Dame To Die For.
Just a quick update, this. Robert Rodriguez's follow-up to his 2005 comic book adaptation Sin City should, if all have gone to plan, have been out by now. However, the decision was taken to delay the film to next year, and it's now going to be heading into cinemas on August 22nd 2014.
It's also, as Bloody Disgusting is now reporting, going to have a new title too. It's only a small change, but the film once known as Sin City: A Dame To Kill For has become Sin City: A Dame To Die For. We've no idea why the change has been made, but the site has posted the promo artwork that's doing the rounds at the American Film Market at the moment, so it seems to be definite.

Rarely has a woman looked so unbelievably hot in a movie than Alexa Vega does in Machete Kills. The outfits she wears throughout the film are practically non-existent, and something comparable to them isn’t found easily...
But if you’re a fan of Robert Rodriguez, you probably won’t have to look much further than the girls of Sin City. Vega initially wanted to don fishnets and a revolver in that film, but instead she appears as the fiery hooker KillJoy in Machete Kills. Don’t worry, though; you might just be seeing her in A Dame To Kill For if she gets her way - and she probably will.
DC: I know this has been kind of taxing with all the press, but at least you’re at the end of the roller coaster since the movie’s about to come out.
Av: It’s so awesome though; I’m really excited.

Sin City: A Dame to Kill For was scheduled to be released on October 4th, 2013, but The Weinstein Company recently announced that they pushed the film's release date back to August 22nd, 2014. We have to wait almost another year before we see the movie. I don't see it as a big deal. I've already waited eight years for it, another year isn't going to hurt. There is a ton of other good films being released in the mean time to keep us busy while we wait.
Robert Rodriguez and Frank Miller have been in production on the film for a few months. The cast includes Josh Brolin, Mickey Rourke, Jessica Alba, Bruce Willis, Rosario Dawson, Jaime King, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Eva Green, Dennis Haysbert, Christopher Meloni, Jeremy Piven, Jamie Chung, Ray Liotta, Juno Temple, Julia Garner, and Stacy Keach.

Brolin will put in work on Vice before doing publicity tours for his three 2013 releases -- Sin City 2: A Dame To Kill For, Spike Lee's Oldboy and Jason Reitman's Labor Day. Deadline...
