Contrary to the technical specs listed in IMDb and a contributor's review assertion, GIRL ON THE RUN is a typical shot-on-video, not film, short feature. Its formulaic, haphazard construction does not deter star Kim Carson from delivering an entertaining and arousing title performance.
Gimmick is that she is hitchhiking and being taken advantage of throughout the show, a premise as old as stag movies. Backdrop of the Golden Gate Bridge gives us the program's setting, and her first adventure is a well-executed scene with Blair Harris for which Kim is even sexier in her skimpy bikini than out of it.
She splits with only the bikini and a leather jacket, headed for San Diego to see her boyfriend Billy (a fruitless quest it turns out). Scene shifts to a birthday party for Jon Maritn, affecting a British accent, whose wife supplies him with a sexy present in the form of Yoko Wong. But he wants a second girl to service him, leading to a poorly edited and sloppy subplot of wifey driving around in search of same, ultimately picking up Kim near the end of the short video.
In between, Kim is picked up by the tag-team of Lili Marlene (outstanding as usual, d.p.-ing herself in a masturbation introduction using two big dildos) and Dann T. Mann. Credit vet director Charles Dos Santos with making the threesome of Kim and these two highly erotic.
Carelessly made, video survives as a testament to the talents of Kim Carson, an underrated performer back then and unjustly forgotten today.
