The one thing that remains true about horror fans is that we’re incredibly passionate about the genre. We come to the defense of our favorite horror media, we anticipate new releases, and the list goes on. But what about the films that don’t get nearly any appreciation or are outright hated? There are plenty of hated horror films that not even I would defend, for one reason or another. Yet there are some that receive way too much hate at the time of their release or for years afterwards.

The Best Valentine’s Day Horror Movies 1. My Bloody Valentine (1981 & 2009)

Few films embody Valentine’s Day horror better than My Bloody Valentine. This cult classic slasher follows a mining town plagued by a masked killer seeking revenge on Valentine’s Day.

Jennifer Tilly, like many professionals, began acting in high school, having been bitten by the theater bug as a teen. Her mother, a former stage actress herself, helped Jennifer (as well as her younger sister Meg) pursue walk-on roles and supporting parts in various Hollywood TV shows, and Tilly made her TV debut on an episode of the sitcom "Oh Madeline" in 1983. In 1984, she secured a regular role on the obscure comedy series "Shaping Up," which starred Leslie Nielsen as a grumpy health club owner. Tilly appeared in all five episodes. Her real big break came that same year, as she secured a recurring role on the hit cop show "Hill Street Blues," appearing in six episodes. 

Tilly would spend the next few years acting in guest spots on hit shows like "Moonlighting," "Cheers," and "Remington Steel." She would also make a move into cinemas, appearing in multiple studio comedies and thrillers.

Jennifer Tilly might be best known for voicing Bonnie Swanson on Family Guy, starring as Tiffany Valentine in The Bride of Chucky and for awakening every ‘90s lesbian with her portrayal of Violet in 1995’s Bound, but her storied career almost took a detour through Springfield, with the actress alleging she was once a close contender for the role of Marge Simpson.

Weeks after getting candid about her connection to The Simpsons via her late ex-husband, series co-creator Sam Simon, a newly resurfaced interview has revealed that marriage was far from Tilly’s only tie to the long-running animated series, The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star explaining how she once read for Marge amid uncertainties of the show’s recording format.

“I remember the first episode, Sam had the idea that he wanted everyone to be in the room,” Tilly recalled of The Simpsons early days during her 2021 appearance on The Adam Carolla Show.

Colin Chilvers, a pioneering, Oscar-winning Hollywood visual effects artist who created movie magic for Superman, apocalyptic scenarios and even The Who’s Tommy, died November 19 in Fort Erie, Ontario, where he lived. He was 79.

His death was first reported Wednesday by the news station 101.1 FM in Niagara Falls, Ontario.

Among Chilvers’ more memorable feats were the effects that gave Christopher Reeve and Margot Kidder the illusion of flying in Richard Donner’s 1978 classic Superman, work that had him share in a team Oscar for Visual Effects.

In 1986, Chilvers created the dazzling trickery that allowed Michael Jackson to defy gravity by leaning forward 45 degrees with no visible means of support in the music video for “Smooth Criminal.” Chilvers directed the video, along with various other Jackson video collections.

Chilvers’ post-Superman credits from the ’80s through the 2000s also included Superman 2 and Superman 3, Bride of Chucky, X-Men and K-19: The Widowmaker.

As crazy as many of WWE's storylines would be, they still have nothing on WCW's worst (or some will say best) moments. The truth is, it’s an average horror movie and it was the shaky camerawork that more than likely made people nauseous. It’s still regarded as a cult classic, however, but what about the rest of the content from the time?...

One of the few 1980s slashers to still dot the horror landscape in 2024, the killer doll has a multi-media empire worth exploring. The Syfy and USA Networks have canceled the television series adaptation of the popular horror franchise “Child’s Play” after three seasons. Known as “Chucky,” the show had gained a loyal fan following since its debut but will conclude with many plotlines left unresolved.

Don Mancini, the creator of the “Child’s Play” films and driving creative force behind the TV series, expressed his disappointment publicly. However, he hinted that this may not be the end for the murderous doll, cryptically stating “He’LL Be Back.” Jennifer Tilly, a core part of the franchise since 1998’s “Bride of Chucky” took to social media to reassure fans, saying that resurrections are a specialty of Chucky and there are many left.

So sad to announce that after three wonderful seasons the television series “Chucky” has finally been canceled.

As the stars of Chucky mourn the Syfy show’s death, they have faith in Damballa that the horror franchise will soon be resurrected.

Following Friday’s news that the Child’s Play spin-off series will end after three seasons, creator Don Mancini continued to tease the killer doll’s onscreen future amid a #RenewChucky fan campaign as he and the show’s stars reacted to its cancelation.

“He’LL Be Back,” wrote Mancini on X, sharing Deadline’s previous report. “I have so much love for our amazing fans. Your #RenewChucky campaign meant the world to me during a very difficult time. Chucky says to tell all of you, quoting himself: ‘See ya real soon.'”

Netflix is removing 34 movies and TV shows from the streaming service in October 2024, and we have the full list of titles that are set to expire.

Unfortunately, this is a monthly occurrence for the streamer, and there’s always a few fan faves included. Often, it’s due to licensing deals expiring and sometimes, titles will often end up popping up on other streamers.

There are some horror films being removed, so if you’re in the Halloween spirit, you might want to watch some of the Chucky franchise titles before they’re taken away! Other notable titles leaving include Save the Last Dance, the Magic Mike films, Jack Reacher films, Crazy Rich Asians, and more.

“The Boulet Brothers’ Dragula” has quickly become a Halloween season staple on horror streaming service Shudder, and that continues with season six’s premiere this October. Today brings the annoucement of the new cast ahead of the upcoming season’s arrival.

The series and its hosts return for a supersized, hour and a half-long season six premiere episode on Tuesday, October 1 on Shudder and AMC+. Following the premiere, all-new hour-long episodes will debut weekly on Tuesdays.

Dubbed “Season 666,” the next chapter of The Boulet Brothers’ Dragula is the most ambitious and terrifying yet, with world-renowned actors and directors joining the judges’ panel, raising the stakes to hellish new heights. Theater chains have been making a killing with unique movie-themed popcorn buckets, and Cinemark Theatres has announced two special horror ones for Halloween this year.

Both Pennywise and Chucky are getting souvenir cups and popcorn bucket heads this spooky season, Cinemark has announced today, and they’re all now available at select theatres!

Why are we getting Pennywise and Chucky popcorn buckets when new It and Child’s Play movies aren’t actually scheduled for theatrical release anytime soon? Well, it seems that Bride of Chucky is headed back to theaters this coming October, which at least explains the Chucky cup and bucket. As for Pennywise, he’s back next year in “Welcome to Derry.”

The Pennywise popcorn head will be selling for $29.99, while Chucky’s popcorn head is going for $24.99. The souvenir cups are selling for $15 each and they come with same day refills.
