Considering the ending of "la chatte" which had been released two years before ,"la chatte sort ses griffes" should never have been made. But :
a)"La chatte" was a commercial success.
b) It was not politically correct that a resistant should die such a shameful death.
So let's say she survived and presto !a sequel !
The title is a misnomer ;it means "the cat draws her claws",and actually she only does it in the last sequence. The rest of the time, the movie is some kind of a poor man's "the Mandchourian candidate".After being cured by the German(!),Cora (the cat) undergoes brainwashing ,in a way which modestly predates Frankenheimer's masterpiece and "the parallax view".But Decoin 's movie is far from having the strength and the power of those two classics.
No more leather for star Françoise Arnoul, but ,to make up for it,she does not wear any bra.It was Brigitte Bardot's heyday at the time.So even a story which took place during WW2 had to be à la mode.
