Softcore erotic film actress Kira Reed, who plays a naked pornstar drinking coffee and reading a paper, said there were several nude actors on set, but they were all filmed from angles to minimize actual nudity shown in the film.
Originally called Live Virgin, the title was changed to American Virgin to cash in on Mena Suvari's appearances in the America Pie (1999) movies and American Beauty (1999).
