Variations on a Theme

As two writers struggle with a movie script, we (the viewer) begin to see the movie as they develop it, warts and all. Clever and funny, the short shows the struggle between the two writers as they fight separately for a film with artistic statements and one with action-packed mass appeal. Before long they are so entangled in their own script that they themselves start showing up in their own "movie." Missouri Smith devours his part and plays it for all it's worth, but all the actors here are just as capable, and they're all clearly having fun as the stock 'good guys' and 'bad guys' of the aforementioned script (special mention goes to the 'Mob Boss').
