According to Trey Parker, James Cameron disliked how fast Parker was filming the scene and stated that he prefers to take his time when directing. Matt Stone retorted "That's why your movies cost so damn much money." Cameron suggested that Stone should be fired but Parker refused.
David Zucker and Jerry Zucker were originally hired to write and direct this short but did not have time to do it so they offered it Trey Parker. It was not until the first day of filming that Parker learned that there was no script. The Zuckers had assumed that he would write it. Parker and and Matt Stone quickly came up with the ideas for each scene less than a hour before filming them.
