A second Monopoly film has entered development, charting the origins of the iconic board game…

Making a film out of a board game always causes a few raised eyebrows, but this one seems like a particularly off-the-wall idea when you first hear it. The Tracking Board reports that Big Beach Films “is developing a new film exploring the origins of the world’s most popular board games.”

Yep, it’s Monopoly: Origins (although it doesn’t yet have a title, we made that one up). The film will be based on Mary Pilon’s book The Monopolists: Obsession, Fury And The Scandal Behind The World’s Favourite Board Game.

In 2009 Rocksteady achieved what many thought was impossible; they made a genuinely good Batman game. With Arkham Asylum they created a claustrophobic atmosphere, told an enjoyable story featuring many of the caped crusader’s most notorious villains, and crafted a battle system that has been aped by everything from Shadow of Mordor to Sleeping Dogs. It wasn’t a perfect game, suffering from copy-pasted boss encounters and a couple of narrative mis-steps, but it was strong enough to inspire confidence that one day we’d get a dark knight video game that would do justice to the long-running DC Comics superhero.

Pretty Little Liars’ “Love ShAck Baby” had Hanna put on a brave face in light of her break-up with Caleb, while the girls go on an adventure to track down Ali based on clues found in her journal.

This week’s episode began with Hanna (Ashley Benson), Emily (Shay Mitchell), Spencer (Troian Bellisario) and Aria (Lucy Hale) agreeing to take turns reading Ali’s journal and marking which entries were about themselves. Ali (Sasha Pieterse), always crafty, gave everyone pseudonyms and wrote parts of her journal in code. To make matters even more complicated, the girls all have stories in the journal they’d like to keep hidden from each other. Emily takes the first turn and spends her night examining the journal, presumably reading about Ali’s flirtation with her and the kiss they shared before Emily came out to her friends. A couple more "Corbin Files" have arrived for Fox's "Sleepy Hollow," entitled "Blood Moon" and "Adams Antiquities." If we can't see Clancy Brown each week on the show, at least we can hear his voice once in a while on these tapes!

Joss Whedon has a tendency to work with actors he has worked with in the past, and this series is no exception. We told you about guest stars J. Piranha 3Dd promised more gore, beer, sun, and naked honeys making out under water. It mostly delivered but I wish they had sunk some of the substantial profits from the superb 2010 original (actually a remake of Joe Dante’s 1978 Jaws knockoff) into it, but this new one seemed so cheap and cheesy, blowing much of their budget on D-list celebrities that everything about it screamed “bargain basement”. Many of the fish and gore effects looked cheaply produced and rushed. I didn’t even get to see it at the theater in 3D because they released it in only a few cities and on VOD the same day.

Capcom continues to reveal new surprises for Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City, which is due out later this month. Today, Nemesis Mode was announced as an exclusive add-on for the Xbox 360:

Imagine if the studio’s wishes had been fulfilled, and Robert Redford had been cast as Michael Corleone in The Godfather. Or imagine if Raiders of the Lost Ark had been scored by Randy Newman. What would it be like if Apocalypse Now ended with a musical number, complete with Montagnard cabaret dancers and Marlon Brando doing the cancan? As a point of clarification, that last one isn’t wishful thinking.

There have been a number of films over the years that have been 9/10 jobs, movies that manage to build themselves into potential masterpieces or classics, but put a foot wrong with tragic consequences; a film that may have been a great, but fell just short all by its own doing.

Here is a run down of four such films, and a look at the easily resolvable flaw in each that dragged them down from potential greatness.

Fox News is reporting that The New York Stock Exchange withstood a hacker attack Monday by the famous hacker group Anonymous, having only briefly affecting the NYSE website.

“NYSE.com appeared to slow down and perhaps go offline briefly between 3:35pm and 3:37pm, media reports said, but there was no interruption to trading on the stock exchange and the public website immediately returned to normal.”

Anonymous had warned earlier that its attack would come at 3:30pm on October 10.

With this news it made us wonder what some of our favorite Hacker themed films were of all-time. This is below is compiled around films that center around hacking, hackers doing something disruptive. There is a lot of films that feature “hacking” as a sub-plot but they didn’t warrant tons of consideration as these films did.

In the past decade Andrea Arnold has emerged as a promising art-house filmmaker, even if she has only two features to her name. Her 2009 film Fish Tank rightfully impressed many, thanks in no small part to Michael Fassbender's effective performance. (His follow-up to Hunger.) And if her 2006 film Red Road is less impressive overall, it is photographed and assembled so beautifully that I couldn't help but be drawn in to the dour, lonely world it depicts. Track down her Oscar-winning 2005 short film, Wasp, too. Arnold's command of visual language is enough to make me automatically interested in any new film she delivers, even if said new film is a version of the well-worn Emily Brontë novel Wuthering Heights. The picture premiered at Venice and played Tiff, where it was picked up by Oscilloscope for Us distribution. That means we'll get a chance to see it at some point in the next year.

The episode is titled, "Mommy Dearest," and things get quite crazy in a small town when Dean & Sam track down the evil Eve demon,and more. In "Mommy Dearest" episode, Sam, Dean, Bobby,and Castiel will track Eve to a small town in Oregon,and discover the townspeople have been converted into demons. However, they will all appear to be dying. When they finally do meet Eve, she will decide to torture Dean and Sam by bringing back their mother, Mary Winchester, as a demon.

While co-hosting for Kelly Ripa on Live With Regis and Kelly, Dancing with the Stars judge, Carrie Ann Inaba was surprised with a proposal from her boyfriend of two years. This was definitely a sweet moment, especially as it is one of the last times that Regis will be participating in a live television proposal before he leaves the show.
