With one of this show's contemporary Police drama competitors being the BBC's Z Cars (1962), this Victorian-era show earned itself the nickname of "H Cabs".
At no time during the series was Sergeant Cork's first name used or given.
Remarkably, all episodes from the series exist in the television archives. The majority of British television from the 1950s to the 1970s are either partly or completely missing.
