Most of woody's shorts from this era (mid 60's onwards) wee of lackluster quality, with wonder and wonder animation. However, despite this, "canned dog feud", is surprisingly well done! First off, while the beginning animation isn't great (sorry Les Kline), once it gets to the action of the dogs chasing woody, Al Coe's animation shines. It's paced well, with the introduction not being too short of too long. The Gaga's in this one hit really well, with the swimsuit one being somewhat risky for a short from this time, and the boulder gag being downright demented. The ending is also just right. They could've given the ending a few more tweaks, but it ends off in such a predictable yet funny way, with woody prancing off, that it just works so well. Additionally, the musical score is noticeably Lucious in this one, enhancing the action and gags. Overall, one of my favorite woody shorts and possibly one of his best from this era!
