Penny, accompanied by her superhero-clad son, must get rid of the dog and pick up her boyfriend's paycheck before he'll let her back in the house. And so she embarks on a voyage of mishaps through the trashy world of everyday LA. Backed up by little more than her hotpants, her "truthful" lies and a decent aptitude for consuming narcotics she always manages to just fail. Penny is not just a loser of her own accord, the world conspires to make her lose too, every time. And as the freak weather worsens, so does her state of mind. This is the sort of film that really hits a chord. Penny is such a child, and her son so grown up, and somehow they must get through a day in the life, a life where every moment lived is one of intense drama.
