The kids lock Popeye out of the closet using a typical single cylinder bolt lock that, for some reason, is installed inside the closet. Popeye removes the door hinge pin, and the door rotates with Popeye entering through the bottom and the kids (with box) sliding down from the top of the door. The lock mechanism has disappeared.

lightweight Popeye

Two of Popeye's nephews try to sneak his birthday present into his house. They trick him out of his home and put the present in the closet. Popeye quickly makes a U-turn and it's one screwball hide and seek game inside his house.

What happened to the other two kids? I've always had problems with those kids. They are funnier in theory than in reality. At the best of times, they are a bunch of brats. They aren't that funny. This story has no stakes. At worst, Popeye finds his present early. It's a really lightweight Popeye cartoon. This is nothing special and he doesn't even get to eat his spinach.
