Alexandre convalesces at his son Jacques' home. Odile, his daughter-in-law, finds it hard to stand his rough manners. Sylvie manages to escape her pimps and takes refuge at the Rose des Vents where Angelina welcomes her with open arms. Jacques learns that his father-in-law, professor Rothman, despite suffering from Parkinson's disease, operated on a patient who died during the surgical procedure. To save her father's reputation, Odile buys the silence of the victim's family.
